Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

dude there's a car meet at the local costco (again) and i'm actually quite surprised how diverse car culture here in modesto is. like you got the american classics, which modesto usually is centered around, since american graffiti was based in modesto, and it's considered a huge part of car culture here. but it's also got modern jdm and european cars too, like hondas and acuras (vast majority of jdm cars here) and even a couple bimmers too. i think the inspiration for customizing these jdm cars come from the south bay (san jose area mainly) because jdm and edm car culture there are HUGE.

I have seen two, one convertible and one hardtop, never seen any for sale and before anyone asks, i have NEVER seen a delsol, irl or for sale.

(Z's tend to be pricey here too, in general the taxations tend to lie around 100k nok for one in good condition and ones wich will need some wrenching are around 75k (source: norwegian car magasines) and delsols werent really popular over here)

You should import one from here, dirt cheap and in large supply. :P

I know we should all be respectfull to other people's cars but what the actual fuck? Obiously this man has spent countless hours on building these cars and i respect that (some parts of them are c(3p)ool like the weathering and "rough" styling but why the fuck would you do this to some slightly rare and fun cars?) If only he had taken his mom's honda shuttle instead of a 350z and his grandma's dying mercedes instead of a delsol it would have been so much better.

Ps: delsol isnt super sporty but with some work it is a blast to drive!

Know all about the del Sols.  This is mine that I've owned for the last 12 years.

Thing hasn't even ran properly in the last 4 years.  Sadly it's falling to shit.  I really need to go full rebuild mode on it.

Just now, Strando123 said:

It's a bit much to list 13 years of history, but I think my 'build thread' over on team sol california should cover most of it.  Pretty sure you won't need to be logged in for it either.  I try to always host images on imgur to help minimize that issue too.

http://teamsolcal.com/forum/thread-21935.html

Also derp, as of 3 weeks ago it's 13 years.

There's something cool here - you just can't see it.

When I got in my Miata this morning after it had been parked, the rain and wind for the past 36 hours or so was so much that the brake rotors were all rusty. But so rusty that when I went to back up I had to give it gas and it suddenly let go, like the pads were rusted onto the rotors a bit lol.

I drove down the road and hit the brakes a few times to loosen them up before I parked it in the driveway.

It would be such a bitch to register the damn thing..

The power increase alone requires it to be registered as an amateur built vehicle..

yeah, even by my standards, even though it's got a nice engine, the fact it runs like crap and even looks like crap, by my standards, it's an absolute faill.
