I used to use my dads electric leaf blower every so often, it was quite effective at removing dust.  You just need to make sure you don't blow the air perpendicular to the slots, always parallel

In my case... Around 10 years - set my hay fever off for a about 3 days (would not recommend!) had to use a damned Hoover to get it off!

I do it roughly every other month. I do wipe off my dust filter every week though.

My PC doesn't get dust in it now :>

With my old setup however, about every 4 months, or when a good layer of dust built up.

I do it about once every month or two depending on when I clean my room and if there seems to be more in the case then usual.

Wow, weekly?

Isn't that a bit overkill?

I thought once per month was often,.

Edit: btw really like your Signature Text :--

Its not overkill.  Every monday theres a thin film of dust over everything.  Takes like 2 seconds go go in and blast a few puffs of air, keeping it looking hella fine.

Do you do it in doors or take it out on a balcony/near a window or something?

I've heard that it's best to do that.

So you inhale less of the compressed air and dust.

About every 3 weeks or so, depending on how much I use it in between.

  • 4 months later...

So yesterday I made a topic on how the dust killed my gpu and today I decided to check out the rest of my pc and my god it was bad. I took the fan off the heatsink and it was completely stuffed with dust. Im gonna start cleaning on a daily basis with the air duster because this gets out of control.

After cleaning for some time its improved a lot, no gpu because im still looking for a new one since old one died

You probably don't have to do it daily, but just at least once a month :P

Daily might be a bit too over the top but does your computer sit on the floor and do you have any pets?

You might want to invest in dust filters.

I do it every 3 months or so, because my room is not as dusty as OP's.

That's why he should clean it so often.. Do clean my dust filter every 3 weeks
