hey man. in all honesty its lots of commitment. i am 19 now and dated someone for 11 months in high school. i lost lots of free time and money (both spent well i feel) but when things ended with her i really turned around. i stopped drinking, smoking (cigarettes and weed) my grades improved and i spent more time building relationships with friends that have lasted a long time and i feel will last longer,

 

i realized now that at that point in time i wasnt mature enough to balance the important parts of my life properly.

 

tldr: theres no rush... take life as it comes and dont rush happiness, because it wont always end up there

well if your like me than you are probably a little mentally/emotionally underdeveloped compared to girls your age.

the whole thing about girls maturing faster or whatever so for me i was 18 when i started figuring them out (kinda) and (at least the young once) girls are pretty shallow most of the time. so make yourself interesting.also dont be too nice. well not an ashole but just the right amount of teasing..

i think more interesting question is why do you want a girlfriend. usually people just dont wanna be alone or are way too thirsty for too long or feel society dictates that you have to have one. maybe try working on being happy with yourself (no not that way) i mean just think about what you want to do and accomplish and then most times relationships will fall in your lap by themselves. yes you can force it but those never last and mostly feel pointless in retrospect.

i may not have a hard time getting into relationships but i am horrible at keeping them. i usually starting blocking them out when i feel things get too serious too fast. i had this girl who kept bugging me about meeting my parents after like a month of dating and im very careful with decisions like that but also couldnt tell her like it was so like things go we fought thing got ugly and eventually broke it off.

 

idk what im trying to say here exactly anymore but my main point is try thinking about what makes you happy without any attachments.i used to be very passionate about most subjects in school and girls like passion i guess. quiet loners attract no attention negative or positive.

well yeah thats a general thing i noticed the richer you are at a young age (or maybe in general for that matter) the shittier the personality. but also poor kids get bullied and bullied kids have a very low tolerance level before their defense mechanism kicks in so sometimes even non-spoiled kids can be assholes (on the outside)
