Official 390 chipset spotted (Support for up to 8 Core CPUs)

Looks like the official coffeelake chipset with support for 8 Core CPU's (Icelake)

https://wccftech.com/intel-z390-motherboard-leak/

Intel Z390 Motherboard Appears Online – Will Support 8 Core CPUs, Arrival Expected Much Earlier Than Anticipated

The Intel Z390 is a not a new name that we are hearing of, it appeared months before the Coffee Lake-S launch. At that time, there was no evidence of why Intel was producing the chipset but later, we got to learn that the chipset will be designed to support 8 core CPUs that Intel will be launching in 2018 to compete against AMD’s Ryzen processors of the same tier.

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

I can only assume this means Z370 won't support 8 core CPU's then? Wonder what their excuse for that will be...

They most likely wouldn't as they skip a number every new chipset. It will more than likely be x499.

So....SKx on x299, CLs on 370, 8 core CLs on z390, and eventually CLx on x299 (or x399 I guess is possible).

The fuck are you doing Intel.... Why does an 8 core CLs exist (it would make sense on the same platform as CLs.... But on a different platform...)

Ummmmm why. Why wouldn't CLx be on x299?

This isn't the enthusiast platform. This is the next mainstream chipset.

What about the curious case of the X58? Can we expect X498?

That would be quite awesome if I input my personal opinion but it's doubtful.

Yeah I already knew that 8 Core CPUs on Z390 was a rumor, decided to not get Coffee Lake as if Z390 is going to come out 2H 2018. Z370 is just gonna get killed off again like Z270 with the new Z390 chipset. This roadmap was already out before Coffee Lake came out.

It's already been known that the Z370 won't support 8 cores while the Z390 will. And OP needs to fix title cause there was no 8 cores spotted in that article. Only the SuperMIcro motherboard running on a Intel Z390 chipset and the cpu they're running on is a  6 core.
