What is your first smartphone?

Mine was a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8. It originally run Android 1.6 Donut but later received a 2.1 Eclair update.

 

It was okay at first but it severely bogged down later on, only to find out that Android back then didn't have TRIM until their 4.3 Jelly Bean in 2013. Also, earlier versions of Android apparently didn't have Garbage Collection until 2.3 Gingerbread. 

 

I think Android only became very good during the release of Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) and Jelly Bean (4.1) with triple buffering for smoother performance. Android 3.0 Honeycomb for tablets is kinda meh.

My first was an LG Optimus 2x that I eventually overclocked by 50%. It was running a CyanogenMod rom with 2.3 and the Trinity kernel. 

 

My second, and current smartphone is my LG G2, now on some variant of 5.0. I don't upgrade very often.

My first phone was a Nokia 252. Before everyone starts going on about how all old phones had awesome battery life, this thing only got 2 hours of talk time and 36 hours of standby with the extended battery.

iPhone 3G.  I'd actually used smartphones before then, but this was the first I really wanted to own.  Kicked the collective ass of the Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and Symbian phones you had to use at the time, at least in terms of experience.

iPhone 1gen ios version 1.1.4 (still have the recovery for some reason lol). That was prior to appstore, games and other fancy stuff. Though it was possible to get games by jailbreaking.

Mine was a LG phone didn't have much going for it sides from a facebook app i used when i had facebook.  The first smartphone I remember actually using extensively and liking was my galaxy S3.  I still have the phone and would just need to swap the battery and put in a sim.

Now a real smartphone, I think it was technically an iPhone 3GS but prior to that I had like a Samsung Reclaim and a couple other things. I think out of the most technicality that reclaim was my first smartphone.

But I also had Huawei Ascend II and some various "smartphones" from Tracfone.

But in recent memory, from 2014-2015 I had a Moto G (2014) in white and since 2015, I've had a Galaxy S6 in white (32GB). Probably going to get a Galaxy S8+ in either Black or Orchid Grey in a week or two. Haven't decided what I exactly want to do as I have some more PC upgrades in mind along with getting another laptop so I can start walking to work and arriving a little early.

That's the early days of dreaded Touch Wiz for you. Touch Wiz severely bogged down Android despite the performance enhancements in 4.1 Jelly Bean update and beyond. My friend used to complain how agonizingly slow his Galaxy S4 after 6 months of use. I myself used a Galaxy Note 2 and after a year, scrolling through a long text message thread is slow af.

Yeah but then again the issue with the Galaxy W was that it wasnt detecting the SIM card, probably bent contact pins or worse. Nobody was at the store to check it out and i wanted a new phone, so i had to get the Galaxy Mini since there were no more W's in it. The Mini had horrible, horrible specs. 600Mhz single core whatever ARM could provide, probably made of potato chips SoC. I didnt knew much about phones back then, and its not like they had a large selection and for 99€ it was the better deal.

 

Im still using a Samsung phone, an S7 Edge (had an S6 and N4's before it), Touchwiz is better but its not good enough to be considered "flagship" experience, at least in terms of software.

For me it does great, tough many with Lumia 950 complain over at Windows Mobile reddits! o3o
