Intel Core i9 Processors Might be Incoming

i wish they had used i9 to denote "extreme editions" from the start.

just seems right to me.

I don't think the L3 cache size is accurate, why would the 7920X would have less cache than the 6950X...?

Nah, but seriously, Intel has a stick up their ass if they think anyone's gonna pay $2k for a CPU.

You'd be surprised how much of a market there is for Intel HEDT chips.  If you want the ability to overclock high on ambient while running 3 or 4 high end GPUs, Intel Extreme is the only real choice.

Core i9 were rumoured years ago....and they just turned out to be i7 which had more than 4 cores.

Finally, good riddance to the two 6-core skus. A $200 markup for CPU lanes and marginally improved stock speeds? Goddamn that's awful.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I dont care at all really even if they are real they will be workstation/enthusiast grade CPU's.

As long as i cant buy a 100$ core i5 4 core/8 thread without iGPU or a 200$ i7 6core/12thread no iGPU  both OC unlocked, the CPU market is dead for me.

The glory days are long gone when you could buy an AMD Athlon dual-core or intel core 2 duo for <100$, or 1st gen i5 120$, athlon iix4 phenom x4 for ~100$ those where the glory days, game like crazy afordable for anyone.

Nowdays its just rip off 400$ i7 or 150$ dual core i3, meh, 4 core ryzen 1400 200$+? no ty.

I'm moving this to the CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory sub-forum as even though we might allow for rumors in the Tech News sub-forum, this is likely not to be true at all.

The name, and the cache size. As far as I'm concerned, no engineer would use 13.75MB as a cache number, nor 16.5MB. They would use nice, divisible numbers.

Perhaps i'm a little late here now, but am I the only one who was on when an "Intel Marketing rep" was leaking this here (Thread was deleted, possible troll). If this is true, it would be so funny though (Would owe him an apology, but he will likely lose his job at Intel for leaking this).

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.
