i7 7700K - 400$

i7 6700K - 440$

Zen 1700X - 465$

Zen 1800X - 600$

Intel's expensive CPUs are actually cheaper than AMD's xD

ps: the X series doesn't come with a boxed cooler:

FTFY:

Zen 1700 - 374$

i7 7700K - 400$ 399$

i7 6700K - 440$ 400$

Zen 1700X - 465$ 450$

Zen 1800X - 600$ 580$

The prices are quite decent tbh. 80$ more than the MSRP ? In Romania? It's great!

Linus' showed the 1800x and the 6900K perform the exact same, at half the price, with the Ryzen clocked almost 0.8 GHzs faster, so if Ryzen OCs bad, than Intel will still have the "better" CPUs, just not the best price

When I said that there were no videos out yet (except Floatplane I assume).

When is the NDA lifting? Hopefully it will lift before release

People say February 28th or March 2nd. It's one of those two. I hope for the former one, but I doubt it.

I hope it clocks well, because I wouldn't mind trying the high-end chip out.   But a LOT of the games I play only use a few threads, and my single thread is absolutely huge with my 24/7 OC.  So if these chips don't clock well, having "similar" IPC doesn't really matter a whole lot in tasks that can't make full use of their extra cores.

Should I get a AMD Ryzen Motherboard now and then wait until the Ryzen 5, or 3 Series? o.O

Never buy a motherboard if you don't have a CPU, and vice versa.

If you are going to wait for the CPU then just wait for the motherboard as well. You will get more options and possibly better prices as well, with no drawback compared to ordering it now.

The NDA is lifted March 2, the same day the pre-orders get shipped out.

The rumor was 28th February, but the real date is 2nd March.

guys I dont know if I have make mistake or not.
22 days ago I bought: cpu i5 6600k, mainboard z170-a and ddr4 ram.
I still have 3-4 days left to give those 3 things back.

what I do:

I play games, record gameplay, edit with sony vegas, render with megui and upload to youtube.

I want to buy a cpu for sth like 250 euro. Will amd ryzen 5 be around that price? Is it worth to wait?

Personally, I would stick with what you already got. Mainly because I am lazy.

Will Ryzen 5 be better? Maybe. But it might be ~3 months away. Do you want to not only go though the hassle of sending everything back, go back to your old computer and then wait 3 months to potentially get better performance? We don't know how Ryzen 5 (or even 7 for that matter) performs, nor what they will cost. So you might end up with only slightly better performance.

Are we expecting supply issues with Ryzen? I ask because everywhere already seems to be out of stock for the 1800X

I am fairly sure AMD said that they would have plenty of stock.

The reason why the 1800X appears to be out of stock everywhere is most likely because it is only up for pre-order right now. It will be released on March 2.

its unknown when or even specs on the slower parts let alone pricing. a 6600k is still a good CPU and will probably have better Single core perf then AMDs chips.  Everything they annouced is a good bit out of your price range.

I doubt it since Zen is rumored to have it's AVX capabilities severely handicapped

in workloads that are not AVX dependent, possibly; but otherwise .. no

Severely handicapped? We already know what AVX capabilities Zen will have, the information is out.

AVX128 could be better than Intel.

AVX256 will be worse than Intel

Doesn't got AVX512, but neither does KBL.

How many relevant workloads do you know that are AVX dependent for enthusiast?
