It's possible the 1080 Ti was on the agenda but got deleted at the last minute for strategic reasons given the Vega preview tomorrow.

That was an amazing 1080Ti announcement, that kind of performance at those prices are just going to piss off everyone who bought a Titan XP or a 1080 already.

 

Oh wait, that is what lots of people wanted. Sadly for them, they had to hear about self driving cars instead.

 

1080ti probably doesn't drop until Vega hits the market, simply because it will let nVidia make more money. Seriously not sure why everyone was positive that the TI would be announced here.

But that has nothing to do with either dev cost or production cost. By that comparison, the 1700$ Intel CPU isn't expensive either.

I thought the car stuff was interesting. It might even save a couple of motorbike riders' lives if the car can see them, because they are usually completely invisible to humans when they come around a corner at 3 times the speed limit...

The 1080ti will be running the Audi, you have to purchase an Audi and extract the 1080ti from it if you want one.
