Yes, is almost like kids could get easily and permantently traumatized far beyond what a simple cellphone can do today (When it is not exploding of course). I just find it funny that people get so worked up about kids using cellphones. All kids are small evil sociopaths when growing up. Almost all of them learn empathy and grow up to be healthy adults regardless of violent videogames, use of cellphones, whatever.

Exactly, I was gonna get the Note 7, but after this I won't. But i'll most likely get either the S8 Edge or the Note 8.

And if stuff like this keeps happening over the next few weeks, Samsung cant be faulted, they are trying their best to get all the phones back, its literally human stupidity if you decide to risk it and keep it.

Well, they are recalling it for a reason. If you refuse to give it back then you wear part of the blame. Of course, the phone shouldn't be exploding in the first place, but mistakes happen.

Seriously though, I honestly think there is such a thing as ill informed parents: I've seen a lot of people saying how it's impossible not to know at this point yet I've dealt with my relatives long enough to suddenly hear how they want to show me this funny new video about a Korean dude dancing like a horse, like unironically today in 2016.

 

Adults can be alarmingly out of touch yet have enough money to buy products they know nothing about. It happens.

Actually Samsung does make batteries. In fact the batteries that explode were made by Samsung's own Korean factories. Those that do not explode were made in China by a subcontractor. One would have thought it would have been the other way around.

Well, most things are made in China. The quality of the product depends on how much you pay and to whom. Samsung probably doesn't give contracts to the same companies that make batteries for 'hover' boards (95% or so of all boards are prone to explode, like the Note 7 ironically) or otherwise pay them significantly more to ensure no explosions.

It's possible the bad bunch were not properly tracked during production, hence the mass recall as they do not know which phone contains which battery.

I'm probably going to buy a note 8 just because I get sick of hearing people blame whole corporations of what is obviously not a purposeful thing; it's continuous and I expect it to stop, soon. But if anyone came up to me and told me I'd injured a child like they're telling Samsung they hurt a child, despite the fact that it was indirect, and not done on purpose in anyway, and the reason behind the battery choice is one that almost every company makes on a project-basis, I would knock their lights out. You have no right to tell the ceo of Samsung he put a bomb in a child's hands because you know damn well he was trying to make profits from his company like every other business in the whole.world. You ought to put pressure on them to fix it, not slang around their name and degrade them.

Kids fault. They specifically said to not use and return the phones. Originally it is Samsung's fault but they didn't listen. I see where people could think they didn't see to send it in but the phone companies contacted the people.
