Yes. I think 2+3 and 2+3 would work. Then it will work like a 6+4

Got a new 5960x from Intel.  This one is just a tad better.  :D

 

This run was done at 4.9 GHz with 1.34v.  

 

Core, cache, IMC.  It's all better then the last chip.  It'll run R15 at 4.5 GHz (1800cb +) with 1.18v.

Yeah, I'm pretty blown away by the new chip.

 

A few guys on OCN mentioned that their replacement chips were clocking pretty insanely with very low voltage so I was hoping for the best.

 

This one is a "J" batch chip and has plenty of OC headroom left.  I'm going to ease into it with this one though.  :D

I have no idea, but the clock speed to voltage scaling on ambient is the best I've ever seen.  

 

The screwed up thing is that based on what I'm reading on OCN and what I've experienced myself, it seems like Intel really fine tuned the fab process near the end of production on Haswell-E and most of the best chips made probably ended up as surplus for use with RMAs.

Yes. They refined it a lot with j batch. All the best chips were that one.

I saw a lot of good stuff about "J" batch chips, but even at that, this particular one is ridiculous.  

 

VID programmed by Intel for 4.5 GHz is already low, but it actually runs at VCore a bit lower then that.  Cache is at 4.3 GHz with 1.134v and I'm still in the process of lowering it or raising cache multiplier.
