Ha ha. I think you'll be OK. Who was it exactly?

Idk what cpu that was I used back in 2015, most likely just some random one and I even used 2*2gb ram sticks! What a noob :P over 300cb is where the good chips should be :D

I don't want to blast his name on the net but #18 R15 E8400, shouldn't be too hard to see who. His was in 2015 as well and on the Blackops board so I'm hoping the REX will factor in the frequency a bit.

I know that guy, he's in one of the oc Skype chats I'm in. :)

Yes a decent board and cpu should be over 600fsb without too much trouble on dice or phase. The best chips do 4.8-5ghz on air :P mid to high ghz should be doable on dice or phase.

Lol.

I see the top subs are DDR3, what's the difference using 2 or 3?

Ddr3 is needed for really really high Fsb chips because it's hard to find ddr2 that does 1400mhz :P  and tbh I prefer ddr2, maybe because my kit can do 1320mhz :D

As long as you get ddr2 and know what settings it likes you are OK with it but most people like ddr3 better, you need hypers for ddr3 though. Psc and others aren't as tight at the super low speeds.

I was tinkering around with my son's rig today and decided to swap his i3 6100 for a delidded 7700k while continuing to use the stock Intel air cooler that came with his i3 6100.  Ran surprisingly cool with that little shitty cooler on a $39.99 z170 motherboard.  :D

@Jumper118 please list with a note of stock Intel cooler.  xD

You overclocked a 7700K to 5GHz with the stock cooler? :o

That's how I roll man.  I like to see what these things will do on air and water.  :D

1128cb ain't too shabby for a chip being cooled by a cooler that came with his i3.  lol

Yeah, I am surprised that the CPU is not thermal throttling. My G3258 (with an i5-4460's stock cooler) gets to 74+C with 1.1V :/

PS, get a Cryorig M9i :P(only $20 and performs better than a 212 Evo)

He won't be keeping the 7700k.  No way I'm letting a 7 year old roll with that kind of power.  lol

Just having some fun.

Ryzen has alot of probs rn with ram. Very hard to get it stable at 3200hz. Just wait for a bios update to fix it in the future.

Doesn't matter what you're doing, still need screenshot and CPU-Z in this thread. That could belong to anyone.

Also very interested in a rig pic too. Not required but want to see.
