I'm OK with this. Its not actually "through apple" its more like apple is promoting another groups efforts and trying to point it out to people.

 

A lot of people die every day due to lack of transplants, and (personally) i think that once I'm dead I'm not using my organs anymore so why shouldn't i. Though if i do that more than likely mine will be donated to science because i have a condition that would prevent me from donating some of them.

The Swedish organization for organ donation already has an official app for Android and iOS.

 

My brother would not be alive without organ donation, so I am very happy that they are spreading awareness. The world needs more organ donors. 0 drawbacks to you (you really don't need your organs when you are already dead), and it literally saves the lives of others.

I agree this is a good thing (see previous reply I made) I signed up as a donor years ago and my drivers license shows this (in Iowa we have the option of having the donor mark placed).

 

Informative though, I did not know this has already been done in another country. Thumbs up there.

So you are afraid that a hacker might break into your phone and ... register you as an organ donor?

 

I doubt that this is a one-click option. The app probably just brings you to the organization's website, and you will likely still need to key in your personal information to be successfully registered. There will be paperwork and all sorts of administrative procedures to sign and see to. Something a hacker won't have the information for (and if they did, I can think of many other more profitable things they could be doing instead).
