OnePlus 2 to be Dual SIM! MicroSD card expansion as well? Also, 50x more units availble.

dizmo

Yup, here it is. More OnePlus news. The way they release their info, someone should really just make a sticky thread and update that...

gsmarena_002.jpg

It looks like the OnePlus 2 is actually shaping up to be quite the device. On top of all the current leaked specs, the phone will also have dual SIM capabilities.

I imagine that it will also feature a microSD card slot, since a lot of companies are now giving the option to run 2 SIM cards, or 1 SIM and 1 microSD.

I'm sure this will be great news for a lot of people on the forum. I know memory expansion is very near and dear to most nerds hearts.

They've also stated that there will be between 30 and 50 times the number of units available at launch.

Hopefully we won't be left searching for invites, paying for them instead of getting them for free, or just flat out giving up because the device is too hard to get. Make more OnePlus. People clearly want them, and it's better to get money than disappoint countless people with hype.

So, what we know so far:

Snapdragon 810 v2 SoC

4GB RAM

Fingerprint reader

13mp rear shooter

Laser assisted autofocus

Dual SIM, Dual Standby

USB Type C connector

3300mah battery

Swappable back covers

It's really shaping up to be quite the device.

I hope that they make the SIM cards dual active, with access to all bands for each, though I think this is pretty unlikely.

MicroSD expansion would be nice, even nicer if they manage to make it a separate tray, seeing as they'll have removable back covers.

This phone is now on my short list. Congrats, OnePlus, you've started to turn me from hater to possible adopter.

Interesting...

I'm not really intending to replace my 1+1, but this might be a viable upgrade in the future. Though, I heard some things about the processor they are using. What was it again?

Overheating issues, but that was mostly the Z3.

If you're complaining about a 3300mah battery, you're complaining about ALMOST every phone on the market.

Whats wrong with fingerprint readers? I think they're very helpful.

Then don't lock your phone with it? Or scan all your fingers.

Haha, I always laugh when I see someone using one of those. They're overly huge.

At least they're cheap though, last time I checked they were going for $345 on Amazon.

Eh, things always get better year to year. Plus it was the first device they put out.

You should have known not to buy the first of anything ;)

Under $450. So, pretty decent to say the least.

I'll have to add that to the OP.

Haha, it wasn't anywhere near that price for the last one.

How do you like the Zenfone 2? It was on my list for a while, but with all the rumored devices on the horizon I can't pull the trigger...

I think the battery is fine. I mean I wish they'd packed in a 4100mah as well, like the new Note 5 (which is also on my list), however OnePlus had the best battery life last year with a 3100mah unit.

They definitely had excellent optimization.

I think asking for more than 64gb is greedy. It's a phone, not a PC. You don't need to take your entire video library with you...

Memory expansion isn't the biggest thing for me as much as dual sim, since I have a legacy sim from a carrier that has true unlimited data. I mean, 100+ GB a month of LTE unlimited. So being able to have access to that kind of data for when I'm out and about or streaming media or whatever without needing a separate hotspot or needing to swap cards? Yup, awesome.

well the current import on the OPO is like $50 and then currency conversion from a device that would be 450 is 585 so it would be close to 650 cad for the op2.

And im loving my zenfone so far, the only problem i have with it is the keyboard, other than thatvperformance and battery are solid

You can't change out the keyboard for Swiftkey?

Battery was the biggest worry for me. The reviews said it was lacking for a 3000mah unit.

Hmm, I didn't have any issues with importing it. No import fees. Tax, but that's to be expected.

I imagine it'll be $399USD, since last time they undercut their "it'll be under $x" by a fair bit.

So I imagine it'll be around $575 CAD.

Not too terrible, given what it's offering.

I just hope it doesn't have that awful sandstone finish at launch..

810 v2

On other news all sd810 uses 810 v2.1 as qualcomm has discontinued old models.. guess what it still heats up.. So what did One plus do? Underclock it to have clock frequency less than 808.. Making single core performance not so impresive compared to 808....
