Images of Powercolor, Club3D FuryX Emerge on NCIX, Newegg Listings

Today on NCIX.com, the FuryX listings for Powercolor and Club3D were updated with images. Gigabyte's listing still remains imageless, but that should change soon as these cards "launch" tomorrow, with NDA lifting at this time. As you can see, the variety of different coolers is a breath of fresh air /s.

Of interest is the minimum power supply requirement: 500W. Does a 500w power supply with 2x8-pin pci-e connectors exist? (probably, I just don't know off hand)

It appears that the fan of all places is where these companies decided to place their branding (or as some have pointed out, shopped the image). Hopefully the stickers are centered properly to avoid fan wobble.

It should go without saying that all FuryX cards are reference design only. The non-x Fury is supposed to have custom boards/cooling however.

In case it isn’t obvious yet, the Fury X uses a very unique design. So unique, in fact, that AMD’s add-in board partners (like Asus, MSI, and Sapphire) won’t be able to customize the card with their own cooling solutions. The Fury X will be reference design-only, though AIBs will be able to tinker with the air-cooled Radeon R9 Fury released in July.

It should go without saying that all FuryX cards are reference, as there is no custom FuryX allowed by AMD.

 But I hate the reference design, looks so eww, does look clean though I guess, just a block with red Radeon on it.

Hopefully in the future they will allow non reference versions :/

Extra stickers are nice though  ;)

Practically every tech site, although maybe its just a speculation that the FuryX is locked to reference model? I was under the impression that only the regular Fury would have custom designs and coolers.

Huh, I haven't noticed any LTT posts about it filled with people crucifying AMD about that decision, so it's all just speculation?

I've only heard about supposedly locked voltage control & locked memory overclocking.

No, if you want a truly ugly reference design, the Radeon HD 3850 has you covered.
