Youtube 1080p is only 4Mbps at best, usually less. The recommended 8Mbps when you upload to YT gets compressed anyways.  

 

The recommendation is only so it doesn't take you forever to upload, has nothing to do with what quality it ends up at, always going to be 4Mbps

I tried watching it at 8K and i blackscreen. i5-m not powerful enough.

let me guess you are watching it on firefox, i had black screen on firefox but it works fine on chrome.

Not with my internet connection it doesn't. My CPU handles it just fine though. But I would hope so for a 5820k. The bit rate is really nice though. Looks good at 1080x1920.

No, not when we lack the transcoding tech to handle it correctly. 4K is already dense enough at 27" and  9" viewing distance where you wouldn't notice going any sharper. We are moving into the realm of the absurd.

I run my browser through NSA ports to make their illegal jobs easier. :P

The problem is that Youtube compresses video so much that 1080p looks so bad. If you have a 1080P monitor, you'll notice the difference by playing in 4k because it simply helps the bad Youtube compression.
