Installed a processor the wrong way once, I believe it was an Intel Pentium 120MHz, I thought I had aligned the notched pins with the corner of the heatsink/fan that the wires came out from. This was one of the one's where the CPU sat in a plastic holder that clipped onto the fan, i.e. you pre-installed the heatsink and fan before installing the CPU. Turned the systen on, pop/sizzle/magic-smoke. It killed the CPU, motherboard, and one memory stick.

I also installed a memory chip upside down once on an old Vesa Local Bus graphics card. If I remember correctly I was attempting to upgrade it from 4MB to 8MB. Pop/sizzle/magic-smoke.

Buying a Geforce GT 610. Even my TNT64 gets better FPS than that piece of crap. I'm in the market for a new GPU, something under 100 USD and a better performer than a shitty GT610

When I redone the wiring in my computer my hand slipped and bent some of the pins on the usb 3 header. Broke two of them. Fortunately there was an adapter I could run through the case to still get my front header usb working, but lost two in the back. One day I'm gonna get it fixed, but it's not a biggie right now. It sucks, but it's those things that make you learn to do better in the future :)

I was having an issue formatting a flashdrive with ext3. It was giving me a permissions issue so I ran "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb". After that the drive would not recognize in Windows, Linux or OSX.

Was it covered under some sort of warranty?
