Covering Windows 10 Briefing

Am I the only one who thinks that they should have used an HSA enabled APU instead of a "HPU" ?

according to then it already has a gpu and cpu, the hpu must be a fpga that process the sensor data faster without taking cpu resources

this is one of the greatest thing that has happened to me recently, and it happened on this forum, those involved have my eternal gratitude http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/198850-update-alex-got-his-moto-g2-lets-get-a-moto-g-for-alexgoeshigh-unofficial/ :')

i use to have the second best link in the world here, but it died ;_; its a 404 now but it will always be here

Fair enough. We have similar outlooks, just very different methods of applying that and I can respect that.

The real question for streaming is will they allow KB/M input? If so, Halo just got a lot more fun for me (and probably a lot of people). Lets expand that beyond FPS games. Forza. I want to use my G27, could I now do that while streaming the game? Cause that would be so freaking awesome (and save me a lot in not needing to buy a XBO specific wheel)

It would be cool but I doubt it. People playing with controllers on Xbox live would get crushed. My guess is that it will be limited to Xbone controllers.

Really? Its the full version completely free for builders? Thats amazing

We don't know just yet. Judging by the way they talked you will probably end up paying a subscription fee for Windows and that it's free for the first year.

I really really really hope that's just me interesting things wrong, but all the talk about Windows being a service and things... It's not looking bright. I would rather pay 200 dollars for Windows up front, than to pay even 2 dollars for it.

The reason is that they will need the terrible DRM I have feared they would include for a subscription model to work. Another reason is that I don't want to worry about "oh no I forgot to pay the subscription, now Microsoft will remotely disable my computer".

And really, "HoloLens"? Good luck.

It seems kind of cool. Don't think I'll buy it, and chances are a lack of third party support will make it fairly useless, but the concept is pretty nice.

maybe because amd parts aren't as efficient as whatever they are using, we don't know whats under that headset, only that it has 3 different chips

Oh yeah, but this isn't a product for me I doubt it's a product for the general public. This looks more for like designing and 3D presentations. I'd like to see how this expands in a decade or so.

Have they announced anyone release date?

They said that you'll get updates for the lifetime of your device, even if you get it for free.

People saw "1 year to upgrade" and misinterpreted it.

It means you have 1 year to upgrade to 10, permanently.

It doesn't mean you only get it for 1 year.

Did Microsoft say that or did some website like Windows Central say that?

I haven't seen any confirmation that it's a misinterpretation.

It might go either way until we have an official statement.

I attended the BETT event in London today and went over to the Microsoft stand/area and asked about Windows 10. 2 guys and 1 woman said that Windows 10 will be free to upgrade for a year and then you'll have to pay after that year has expired.

What do you guys think? I don't think it's true... But why would they say that? Maybe they just represent Microsoft and don't have a clue about Windows 10..

I'm going to put a link to my PC specs which actually aren't my PC specs and I cry myself to sleep everyday so I can have these PC specs but I can't afford these PC specs so PC specs PC specs PC specs PC specs PC specs PC specs.

Why are you so cycnical about anything to do with Microsoft. Your entire subscription based thing is completely baseless and something you conjured up in your own mind yet you keep repeating it like its a thing. People on Windows 7 and 8.1 users will have 1 year to claim a free Windows 10 license. If they haven't done that within 1 year of Windows 10 release, they'll have to pay the standard price (probably $100).
