It makes me wonder sometimes. How does such a fuck-up happen.. China to Canada and it gets a label to Texas.. I've never had a problem like this, so I have no clue how this happens, I hope it never does. I'm hopefully getting an upgrade and I dont want a key part to just go to Florida or something :/

@Vanderburg

You know if I have your previous address and if you filled out a change of address with the Post office I can go in there as a random person with your previous address and request your new address.

So you might want to think twice.

Thank you for the heads up. I went ahead and removed it.

I hope you return them all. You know it's not the right thing to keep them. And please return all of them, every single one. This is not UPS fault, is the fault of an employee, we're humans and we make mistakes. I guess that the employee is going to get fired :/

EDIT: Don't look at the $50 and $25 they're giving you, basically they shouldn't give you anything for doing the right thing. I'm pretty sure you're going to get more things in your life just for being honest.

I would just like to say that what you just said gives me the impression you're a bit of a dick. Even if it is the right thing to do to return the iPod's (which I agree with btw) it is still rude to demand that he return them because it is the right thing to do. It's his choice what to do with them be it good or bad. But what really annoys me the most about this is that Vanderburg had said he intended to return the iPod's which should have been the first thing you read on the thread.

@Vanderburg you're a good man.

employee will not be fired. The work force is unionized and will protect absolute everybody. Also, tracking down the employee that screwed up is almost impossible.

My dads friend ships iProducts to Ukraine, and makes a killing since they're worth way more; I'd be able to sell all of them to him wholesale in 1 go.

As a law student, criminal law to be specific; I feel bad for you. You got a gift, and you're giving back the multibillion dollar companies shit they don't even need, nor care. They would not even notice they're gone. 90k is pocket change to amazon/apple.

Honestly I'd be extremely happy to receive this, and the idea of sending it back/calling would not even pop into my head. I've got two items instead of one before, and I'd file for a refund. Keep the extra + get my money back :P

Morals are for wussies. If it's legal on paper, that's all that should matter. Ethics and moralities are for the weak.

I'm sorry you called, would've sold them to some wholesaler. I'm sure 90k, even 30k wholesale does not mean anything to amazon -- but to you (even me) it's a significant amount of $$, and to just give it away is treason!

You saved them 90000 bucks and they're giving you 25?

Not worth doing the right thing imo.

to me, i would still think doing the right thing was worth it if they gave me nothing and charged me for shipping. i try to do the right thing...(i would be annoyed ofc, but i would still do it)

To be honest, for Apple this really is pocket change. You giving it back really won't do much to them.

Finally my Santa hat doesn't look out of place

Well I'm sorry you have such a weak personality. Things like this is what make people rich or working class. You need to not give a fuck and enjoy, who cares about those companies; they don't care about you -- so enjoy yourself.

Saying ethics and moralities are for the weak is your own opinion and for @Vanderburg this might have been a tough decision and I hate how so many people are demanding he should have kept them. Hes made a decision so I think people should respect that and people should voice their opinions and not demand them.

You're in Texas. You're legally entitled to keep them

I'm from Texas and if it happened to me I'd contact the appropriate people and give them back.

For all you guys joking about getting those as a LTT giveaway I'd give away Android phones but I wouldn't touch apple products. Their business practices are distasteful.

As someone who makes less than $35,000 a year and takes care of his disabled dad, this is a life changing amount of money. I don't need UPS or Apple to throw money at me (Though, I certainly wouldn't be offended), but I'm a bit surprised at how little interest (or appreciation) they seemed to show. Even though, It took some serious strength to say "This isn't mine, you screwed up, please come take it back", and I'm happy with that and I don't need Apple or UPS to validate me doing something good.

You should leave it outside on the porch for them to come pick up.

this.

However all these companies couldn't care less about ethics.

From what I've heard UPS is horrible to work for. And Apple's treatment of employees in their factories isn't very good at all.
