AC: Unity's Frame Rate Issues Resolved By This Embarrassingly Simple Fix

ThyFeared

The AC: Unity FPS issues have been resolved by the community in less than 48 Hours.

Here is a video explaining more into it (If this is advertising please tell me I will instantly remove this)

Apparently going into Offline mode for PS4 helps with FPS increase (not a full fix)

PC fix is turning off Internet to play.

EDIT: @Sidiox Found the Article! http://www.gamepur.com/news/16952-working-fix-assassins-creed-unity-fps-issues-ps4-and-pc-discovered-put-your.html

"Putting Your PlayStation 4 offline fixes the frame-rate issues" and further added: "Optional, rebuild the ps4 database by booting into safe mode"

1: Confirmed that it works. Edit: zero stuttering whatsoever and have been offline for 30 minutes now."

2: I just tried it, didn't see any noticeable difference. Might just be an issue with my hardware and not the game though."

3: Just tried it myself, game actually ran pretty good. There was the occasional dip, but it was gone after only a second.

4: You are just awesome! playing for a while now offline and framerate is still not stable 30 fps but soooooo much better than playing online! thank you!!!!!!!!!

5: Confirmed for PC, at least for me anyone, I turned off my wifi on my laptop and fps doubled

Permanent fix: Uninstalling it, then you'll get a solid 60/120/144fps (depending on your monitor).

/If only people would stop supporting Ubi, maybe then they'd still pull this shit.

No fucking way, this cannot be true....

How the hell did this get past beta, if not fucking alpha testing. This must be an engine problem, which should be noticed much much earlier

@ThyFeared

If it is comfirmed I really really want to know what the hell causes this fucking bullshit when you are online.

Also it doesn't seem to fix it for everyone?

At any rate, Ubi fucked this up, big time, CoD Ghost style

well it was stated in a few reviews that the micro-transactions system was not live before release - some speculated on purpose to not let it factor into critic reviews

so that's probably how it passed "QC" (what little there was obviously)

My guess is Uplay it even corrupted save files in Watchdogs.

I seriously wonder if it's some kind of phone home thing where they ask the server if they should limit the FPS so if you're not connected to the internet it can't do that. Either that or they just refresh too often, and their servers can't handle the launch traffic, so it slows down the game on the client.

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

Is this title written by some baitclick website? Just say that that going offline resolves the framerate issue in game directly in the title, you don't need to turn this forum into a shitty advertising page.

I'd rather see some video evidence rather than people just saying it works. Though it does seem plausible if people were speculating correctly that its because of constant network checking for the companion app or for micro transactions.

Whats the cause? Always anal DRM?

I mean this makes sense. Someone told me they bought it and their friend pirated it and got better performance somehow. I assume the pirated version was blocked via the hosts file or something.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch
