New Bentley Ad filmed entirely with an iPhone 5S

Terlingua0101

Also they needed expensive rigs for those moving shots. So it's not like ANYBODY with a smartphone can make a good video.

He who dies with the most tools wins.

Or they're lazy and cheap....

Probs made a deal with apple to some how promote there product so they could get a better deal on the ipads they use in the car tbh i dont know anything about video or cameras but wouldn't this take more time than using a traditional camera setup?

It might take a little more time(but I doubt it) but it is definitely a lot cheaper. I do and don't think they made a deal with Apple

you don't have to have a good camera to be a great photographer. Same goes for video. Its the skill of whoever is operating the camera that makes the biggest difference. Resolution and picture quality is only part of what goes into a video like this

If you guys would stop bitching about the quality of the video and start focusing on the fact that it was done 100% with mobile devices and not a laptop or any higher end equipment you would understand that this is an incredible feat in where technology has come today.

To be perfectly fair... When did anyone care about the cameras that used to make adverts (apart from those that are into that kind of thing). I'm more than sure that if no one knew that the advert was filmed and assembled using Apple products not many IF anyone would comment on the quality of the video. Basically haters automatically disregard the content of the video and jump to the basic conclusion of saying "It's crap, it's an iPhone/Apple product". This would definitely take place if let's say it was done on HTC, Samsung or any other line of devices. I really don't understand why the Bentley team had to point out the fact that it was made using Apple products and the only reasonable explanation is that they are partnered with Apple since they are providing them with the iPads for the car. One way or the other as much as I, personally aren't a fan of Apple products... quite honestly don't care what it was recorded with but I'm more concentrated on the content. The people hating or even 'fanboying' on things made using the products from the company they don't like really need to get a grip.

I never really cared to much for Bentley's to be honest... yeah they are nice cars, im not saying I wouldn't love to have one, but I just dont see the point being how I love to drive rather than be chauffeured around. I guess it would be nice on those longer trips, but man I just like to drive to much. I much rather spend the money on a nice, sporty car than a gigantic Bentley.

oh and on topic: yeah the filming isnt as high quality as a normal ad, but it certainly isnt bad. The grayscale is a little aggravating though.

So they used gray scale to make it look better because the colors would have been shit, and the color saturation is shit. And you have to wonder just how much post processing was done (which was probably a lot). Overly unimpressive, anyone with a half decent eye can see the very apparent flaws in the commercial.

Here is a list of common fallacies. Which ones have you used today?

Not sure if Bentley ad are subtle kissing up to Apple subliminal ad.

Either way, this is the same bullshit as taking a B&W photo of a coffee can and calling it art. This isn't the 50's, that filter isn't artistic or deep, it's a lazy way to save yourself from inaccurate colors and over saturation.

Dunno what the hell is wrong with everyone, or if their blind hatred for Apple has blinded them

You cannot deny that technology has come along way when video of this quality can be shot on something that fits in your shirt pocket!!!

I found it very impressive to see them shoot it on a phone and edit it on an iPad, it shows how tech is changing, that you dont need £10000 cameras and workstations to create a simple video these days

I could go out, right now and create a professional looking video on my phone and edit it all without any specialist equipment. If you are not impressed, then why the hell are you on a TECH forum.

I guess we better tell all big film studios to throw their $100 million+ in video production equipment out the window. All they really need is an iPhone and an iPad
