"It was Verbal Irony"

"Oh, I didn't pick up on that"

Neither did I lol.

I understand the separation of work and play, it is instrumental to my mental health. If I play games at school, or I do homework at home, my balance gets screwed up.

Taran had an even more jank pc than I do!

Edit: Also, Ikea always gets you. Those Swedish Meatballs are there for a reason!

LMG has a dress (thanks to Luke) code. Pretty simple. Wear actual pants.

I remember some twit huffing in to the forum a year two ago and complaining about how unprofessionally all the LTT employees dress and I was like, my dude, the founder of the company is famous for wearing socks and sandals.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Can we please do Taran every year?

(Also Taran knows he can make different Windows logins?  I'm sure he does but that works for me for decent work/life separation)

I guess it wasn't done since he bought it outside of the extreme tech upgrade but kind of surprised the K95 RGB keyboard he uses wasn't listed. Also, for the NAS I'm guessing maybe as a privacy measure they didn't show what it was or anything other than the hard drives used for it? Since the way the sleds were set up, I'm guessing it's not a repurposed desktop?

The box looks a bit like a Synology DS920+ Which I think was also what some people in the comments mentioned as their assumption.

I've always had the suspicion but after watching that, I can tell you Taran and I would not get along. The thought process he has for things is out there at times.

Yeah, I wish they spent a little more time with the NAS (especially after Linus specifically pointed it out). Granted there's not that much to getting a Synology up and running, but it really deserved some elaboration as to why it's better than a shoebox dollar store plastic basket full of random drives. That was an opportunity to convert some of the spacebar heating crowd.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Definitely agree, I often wonder what have I maybe missed with the qnap NAS I have, and it's a lot less powerful then the Synology that he got.

I'm starting to wonder how many of these are "fake" for lack of a better word.

How is it that so many employees at a company like LMG, have such terrible computers at home? If anything given the nature of the content i would expect that people would be more invested in their personal setups.

Which ones, I feel like Mark was the only one whose set up was so bad it was kind of surprising, but given everything he talked about I kind of guessed he didn't really do too much on the computer at home. There is a level where given that they were doing remote work you'd expect it to be better but Linus did talk about them connecting to their machines virtually in which case that would be less of a factor, and maybe Taran was one of the few editors who went to work during the worst parts of the pandemic given his internet.

"Taran Murphy's Law"

Anything that can go wrong will go wrong around a Murphy.

"A high ideal missed by a little, is far better than low ideal that is achievable, yet far less effective"

If you think I'm wrong, correct me. If I've offended you in some way tell me what it is and how I can correct it. I want to learn, and along the way one can make mistakes; Being wrong helps you learn what's right.
