Nope... After messing around with my voltage my PPD dropped by 50% GPU temps dropped by 10C, 100% not worth it.

 

I also need to top up my fluids by the looks of things, I've dropped 2mm based on my red electrical tape line 

Now where did I put that stupid Corsair guitar pick...

I still have another GTX 1080 and RX 580 I'm looking for homes for this weekend. Neither will fit in the case that has my GTX 760 barely folding for its dear life.

The problem is FaH points are exponential, not linear. Going by what I've experienced with a card with 384 shaders (GeForce 940M w/ 900GLOPS of FP32 performance compared to the T400's 1094GFLOPS), you'll only be able to get between 40-80k PPD at best. @BondiBlue

 

The bigger issue will be that it might take 2 or more days for every GPU WU to finish, 35 mins+ for each checkpoint (the checkpoint interval doesn't strictly adhere on GPU WUs IIRC) and it's overall going to be a very poor card for Folding@Home. (And no, the faster GDDR6 memory won't make a big difference because my 940M wasn't memory bottle-necked.) If you want a cheap F@h card you could do much better with, say, a 1050Ti.

 

The F@h PPD database can contain incorrect data, as witnessed by an entry of a 940MX making 125k PPD and being ahead of a GT960M whereas I've folded on my 940M and only got 30k PPD (35k if OCed) for my efforts. Although that was before the CUDA update. There's even an i3-5005U making 100k PPD if you look closely enough.

personally i would toss the 1080 in the 760s spot...or the rx580.  in other news Scooty-Puff SR: My Dell G5 5505 is rumored to be returning to me next this week from his extended stay at the Dell Hospital after a suicide attempt out of an improperly secured backpack...

Of course that does not include the Macs as FAHClient routinely hangs when issuing telnet commands which I haven't been able to figure out how to get my script to timeout when that happens which seems to cause the script to runaway and eat 100% CPU waiting for a response.

 

The history on my groan-worthy client naming is I traditionally named my fastest machine God for obvious reasons.  When I built a dedicated gaming rig, God was relegated to Jesus.  The order of the list above however is manual based on expected PPD output and thus why Jesus is so far down the list as its my second fastest CPU but not GPU.

Thus concludes todays lesson in "things nobody wanted to know but I felt like telling them anyway".

Just got home form a weekend away, the systems have been running fine but my main system is folding slow

 

3070 is around 20-50% slower.

 

 

3060ti is 25% faster

 

I've restarted my main rig but still not 100%?

 

Had a massive drop yesterday from 7.5M to 4.8M

Something on my system is just not happy currently. I have set myself for Alzheimers, and also set it on other days for "highest priority" and no matter what I can't get a work unit that isn't Cancer and all of them have a reward of "poor" on both of the 3090's. Like I don't even see something I could change.

Linux has returned to being practically unusable while folding so I had to take the 1650 offline until I go to bed.

 

Just wish I knew what weird quirk it was that meant it was working fine all this time.  Just specific WUs and how they load the GPU?

Try windows 11 i heard its faster and more points to be had   (ignore the fact bender is on pop os thats just a special build of 11  )
