I can't exactly restart my computer right now even if I really wanted too... Plus if I remember correctly there's a read test after.

So instead I'm going to try a few tricks first but I'm eating right now. I have downloaded the linked drivers tho. It randomly stopped so my guess something stupid happened somewhere a reboot might simply fix it. Oh I know I'll blame iCUE, happened around the same time so why not?

Got something better in mind? I would love to break up with it, it's abusive, annoying and the relationship has been one big headache fo0r the last 4 years (I think).

I recall LTT promoting something that works with Corsair products but I don't recall the name 😞

On the plus side my drive is done and ready to go, downside it's a little too late in the day to do much with it. Tho I guess I could light up the house like a roman candle for the 20 minutes needed to install everything getting ready for tomorrow...

So setting up my P4 I noticed something with my new corsair power supply... It comes with a floppy cable, what does my P4 have? A floppy... I now feel legally obligated to bring that old piece of tech back to life, but I'm missing my floppy cable and the motherboard doesn't support it either 😭

So WHY Corsair WHY...

I'm setting everything up so the minute it's (HDD) ready I can install and go, hopefully Monday.

Edit: Uh, should I? (for my 640)

Not unless you want to tank your production. Those risers are only PCIe3 x1 and are designed for mining. Look for a m.2 to PCIe adapter instead.

Those 4-pin Berg adapters that were used for floppies are also used for Zip drives and some powered PCIe risers use them as well. I like them because they handle more current than SATA adapters and usually are less likely to melt and set your rig on fire.

If it's only to control RGB,  OpenRGB might be an option worth exploring. It's meant to be a lightweight FOSS alternative that does support a range of Corsair products, but depending on your specific corsair components may not have as feature-rich functionality compared to iCue (or be more prone to bugs/glitches). Here's a detailed list of all the supported devices currently.

No m.2 on this board 😜 It may be missing a floppy port but it sure ain't new enough for those fancy new dang things.

ok so there is some logic to the madness lol, not like it'll work anyways one of the 4 pins popped out trying to plug it in...

Also tiny update... installed everything, had to remove my OCZ PSU, HDD cage because the 1070 is a big boy 🤣 Luckily my power button has a 3.5 spot that I can throw the drive in, or I can put it in the floppy spot too... Should have it running tomorrow.

My 5700 XT still hates my guts, refreshed the drivers via Win+Ctrl+Shift+B (not tried installing) and Explorer closed as much as possible (less iCUE oops), interesting enough the computer freezes now every time I try to start/pause F@H for the GPU I'm guessing an issue with OpenGL. I'm basically set for the requirements for the requirements as long as I let my CPU run once a day if all things go south for me lol

Now sleep 😴

Thanks, I don't think it was open RGB but a paid software, I'll look at it in the morning.

I use OpenRGB on my rig.  It doesnt' recognize the Corsair K95 Platinum XT keyboard (the non XT version is listed as supported).  I'm hoping time will favour supporting the XT version too.

However, it does recognize my Razer Naga Trinity mouse and my ASUS motherboard and the 2 sticks of G.Skill Trident Neo on it.

I'm really happy with the support so far.

So, I wasn't kidding when I said that folding has been really good for keeping my apartment cozy. My building has central steam heating that the super turns on whenever it's cold, and while it's supposed to run at a temperature that's comfortable while the windows are open I often found that it really doesn't distribute heat well enough for it to stay warm while I open the window for fresh air. The heat from Folding has actually fixed that, and now I'm fiending to try and collect GPUs over the next few years for a folding rig for the place I'm moving into after I finish my doctorate to replace the heating with whatever comes out of my folding rig.

This has been a weirdly inspiring time.

Oh, and also science and stuff, but I do enough science at work.

It's entirely possible that I misinterpreted/misread your topic and/or question. This happens more often than I care to admit. Apologies in advance.

Sure are.  They skew the daily Folding Month reports because you have WUs that are still in flux when the report is generated.  In other words as the days go by, you're up then you're down, then up......

Q: 31 threads on the 3950x???  Here's mine:

Also, as you say, my 5950x goes BRRRRRRR.

@GOTSpectrumThanks for the ping in the latest blog post; school has been pretty crazy lately and I totally forgot. I've got all my cards folding full tilt now, looks like I'm having around 6M PPD.

I do have a question for anyone that has an answer though; I have one machine with a 3900x and a 3070 in it, and the 3070 is getting only ~2.3m PPD with 17804, while another machine I have with a 6700k and 3060ti the GPU is getting ~2.6m PPD. Any idea what's going on with that kind of disparity? Both machines are running windows.

Yup, same here.  Hasn't sent it at all this morning.  I already have 20 attempts.

I mentioned this on the F@H forum (https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=37549).  Apparently the server ran out of space.

No resolution.  No ETA.  Just sit tight I guess and watch all your early bonus fritter away.

Same WU or different ones on each machine.

If different, that's normal for F@H.

If the same, that's normal as well, sort of.  There are some minor differences even with the same WU.

You don't mention if you are also folding on the CPUs at the same time and at what thread count.  If so, WU loads on the CPU CAN impact GPU performance as the two F@H loads fight for CPU resources, most especially when you're running very high thread counts for the CPU.

Same project (17804), not CPU folding on either machine. It just seems strange that my 3070 seems to be underperforming relative to a lesser card on with a lesser CPU.

In my experience, running the FAH installer again gets the finished WU to send more quickly--it resets the number of attempts to zero (FAH tries to send less frequently with more attempts) while still retaining the finished WU.

Oh, the problem isn't sending it.  It's getting recognition and subsequent release of the sent WU from your queue.  Here's the log:

I think the FAH server it's trying to upload to could be overloaded at the moment. I'm pretty sure Pande Lab doesn't have that many FAH servers--I once brought up that time where Linus built a server for FAH work units to a member of the FAH Consortium, and they said that that one server actually helped immensely.

Actually, Joe H responded on the F@H forum here: https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=37549

"This is being looked into already. The WS is currently out of space and the connection to the CS is listed as failed."

And as this problem gets rectified, I've already blown through 110K credit.

For the record I am also seeing the same issue.
