Best antivirus?

I use common sense.

I use the free version of AVG, it's the less annoying anti-virus out there. But before that I used common sense for like 9 years, never really had a problem, guess my common sense is working then .

(not actually 9 years, as I had all sorts of AV's but never liked them so I always ended up with nothing. And I have AVG for better something than being sorry later for having nothing)

To everyone that is using common sense.

I just want to point out to everyone who said no,you don't need an AV, there is this thing called an iFrame.

But basically, iFrames can actually be used to load viruses and other stuff onto your computer, and even if you use common sense, and don't download anything, you can still get a virus just by visiting an infected webpage.

Who says that?  everybody I know says norton is terrible. :lol:

 

Common sense doesn't really work that well, because you will never know if a site is infected, just to give an example, in this very forum I have click on a couple links from the news section a week ago that turn out to be infected, kaspersky blocked the virus for me, but all of you who happen to have click on those links could be already infected.  Is not as easy as: "I don't go to shady sites", I have found virus in websites from recognized stores,ISPs, and even in the page of a very famous PC maker, all who were suppose to be safe to buy from.

I trust them, never had issues with the software and it doesn't affect the performance of my rig. Most of the time i won't even notice it, and thats how it is supposed to be!

Used Avira for a short duration, it was terrible. You get what you pay for, and in case of Avira, its nothing

I used Avast years ago and never had any reason to dislike it, then switched to AVG, and have recently had one of it's sys files go corrupt on several machines, causing >10min boot times on my machine with an 840Pro and a 3930k. switched back to Avast, couldn't be happier. Also, I used Eset for a bit, liked it too, but always seemed to migrate back to AVG....

norton is a freaking tank in terms of security it is the most powerful but at the same time the most demanding

no the problem is everyone buys those suites when th only need and want the anitvirus part which you can buy separately but is not much cheaper, thats what slows down the PC.
