Any early 2000s game recommendations?

LloydLynx

I reunearthed my ultimate 2004 gaming PC project running WIndows XP and I'm looking for stuff to do with it. I already have Halo CE installed, I can't wait to try playing it when I get home this Sunday night. I also have my eye on Half-Life and Half-Life 2. I got a question though; does it matter which order I play them? What are your favorite early 2000s PC games?

well it would make the most sense to play them in order. But to add to that you should also play Half Life's stand alone "DLCs", Half Life: Blue Shift and Opposing Force.

There's also the GTA Series up to San Andreas, NFS Underground 1 and 2

Return to Castle Wolfenstein

No One Lives Forever 1 and 2

Deus Ex

Max Payne 1 and 2

Far Cry

Mafia

Arx Fatalis

Fable

Trying to just stick with single player stuff, could put things like Unreal Tournament 2003 and 2004 also but those really only come alive with multiplayer against other human beings.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Simpsons Hit & Run (2003) definitely a classic.

most wanted, chromehounds (mecha game), BF2, BF2142 (these three games are kinda outdated tho).

But do they need to work on XP, since you mentioned console games?

- 007 golden eye I think it was the name, kinda fun in its own way, the weird controls and same looking rooms made the splitscreen PvP action sort of fun in it's own way, if you had enough players but it doesn't offer much else than maybe story mode.

- Ratchet and clanck?

- Surf Up, was a thing, I think.

- FEAR, the AI man.

- crash bandicoot, but it has a newer version so... could do that one instead?

- Star Wars Battlefront (the first one)

- the different mario kart

- other mario games.

He didn't mention any console titles, and he specifically said early 2000's PC games.

GTA III on PC was awesome with Odie's mods. Wonder if you can even find them in 2021. He had a funny stunt course to drive on.

Seems still highly popular.

And yeap that mod is in there too.

My suggestion would be NFS carbon, Underground 1+2 were awesome too but this puts it on a whole new level, the tuning was better too, albeit a bit wrong at times (for example dont install custom transmission for Evo or RX7 makes them faster? lol)
