What was he trying to penetrate?

He was talking about stupid USB 3 Micro-B connectors. For whatever capture card he was using, the cable that came with it was broken. All the other usb 3 micro b cables they had didn't have connectors that were long enough (because the capture card's one was slightly nonstandard). This meant that he couldn't get it to 'penetrate'...

 

He talks about the fact that one company made one phone with USB 3 micro B and that was it (the phone in question was Samsung's Galaxy Note 3, which I just happen to have used for about a year before upgrading to the note 4, which was surprisingly fine. The connector was interesting).
