Dude, this is a volunteer event run to benefit disease research, with token prizes (the people who donated them are awesome, but if you are competing exclusively for them, you will be losing money on electricity).

There was a clerical error, which sucks, but the people spending a lot of money/power/heat to push through the end of the event planned on it ending on the 15th, and moving it to the 22nd hurts them too. And appealing to the mod team? Come on man, grow up.

 

I lost significant amount of respect for you because of this conversation: I'd cut your losses now man, before you say something that you can't take back.

I'm positive, but not certain, that you'd be violating laws about giveaways if you decided that even if I objectively qualified and you'd disqualify me for subjective reasons.

 

So if you want to not include me in the prize pool if I qualify then you need to not offer any prizes to anyone who qualifies.

I know. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about qualifiying in the event to be included in the potential prize pool and have a forum badge and knowing that I made a meaningful contribution to the LTT Folding at home Team.

I'm not in this for the money. I just want the event to be fair.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I think it hurts both parties. Sorry you won't qualify, but if you started late because you knew you didn't have to participate until the end, that's kinda not in the spirit of the event.

For that to have happened F@H service would have had to ID it as running on that project ID.   Perhaps the CPU projects also run on Potato IGPUs?

PS - your were told here on Sept 15 the event was 5 weeks long and the date appears to have been corrected about Sept. 1st which is the first date the discrepancy was recorded here

I've had a pretty good run with this years event as far as weather goes, lots of unseasonably cool days of 23-25°C. Seems like the nice weather is coming to an end though with the forecast for the next few days being 30°C, 30°C, 32°C, 38°C. The end of the folding event can't come soon enough.

UK has been nice and chilly around 11c-15c. but my upstairs doesnt need the heating on as the two PCs are keeping it warm lol

hell i have window fans in and having issues getting it below 70f/21c for yall non american in my office lol. and yes one window is pushing the other is pulling...if i set both to push then yes my office gets cold but also so does whole house...

Right now it's not about the money or prizes, it's about helping the world kick the pandemic in its ass and put a stop on its reign of terror on this tiny planet.

As much as I would love to play games while I wait for a call back I have thousands of hours of TV shows and movies I can watch instead, plus I could always boot up a less resource intensive game (more CPU bound one) if really wished.

 

Also I keep forgetting to boot up the 5700 XT system...
