OK, seems there might be an incompatibility with that particular motherboard, but it has nothing to do with it being old.

Did you actually launch the processing client? You need to launch the "folding @ home" shortcut, not just FahControl.

Yeah, I also noticed that, and dug into a little bit. It turns out that when you return a WU to a collection server, you don't actually get points at that point. The points are only distributed, when the collection server offloads the finished WU's to a different server. And with all the F@H server issues, it can take some time before it gets done. But eventually all points should get distributed.

Went to check my stats now when I saw your post, and I'm pretty sure my PC can't process 5 WUs in a 3-hour window (my 1080ti crunches the smaller WUs in an hour, and larger ones take two):

So some of the WUs most likely have been updated to stats in a later update.

Hi guys,

I got this up and running on a bunch of our machines a few days ago and joined the team, but they all display as 'Online Inactive' and the web control just states: 'Ready'. None of them appear to have actually done anything yet.

Is this just because their servers are being hammered and I'm stuck in a queue or do I need to do anything further?

I did just noticed quite a few errors like this in the log:

07:37:46:WU00:FS00:Downloading core from http://cores.foldingathome.org/v7/win/64bit/avx/Core_a7.fah
07:37:46:WU00:FS00:Connecting to cores.foldingathome.org:80
07:37:46:ERROR:WU00:FS00:Exception: Failed reading core package header.
08:08:16:WU01:FS01:Downloading core from http://cores.foldingathome.org/v7/win/64bit

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I've never done a multi GPU setup so can you guys answer a few doubts that I have?

I am currently using a GTX 1080 for folding but I had a 750Ti lying around and would like to use that for folding.

1) After installing the 750Ti, do I need to install drivers for it separately or the drivers for the 1080 will do?

2) How do I add the GPU to the folding client?

Hahaha, do not worry, there will always be new research, and as you can see, cancer has been here for quite some time and we are still folding for it. So, less thinking, MORE FOLDING! :D

Actually, I think @C3Shark is running CPU and GPU in same time (correct me if I am wrong), and your first slot is CPU which generates less PPD as usual.

Got a little spooked, because my daily number was very low on the Google Spreadsheet list.

I think it might have a little to do with this:

image.png.72d8ab74fa37df5912af681a26752591.png

Suddenly... 800.000 points (which is about double or triple of what I normally have on the 'hourly' field).

Anyone else had this too?

(Apologies if this has been brought up before already).

I thought he meant the delay in getting points from finished work, until he can actually see it in EOC and Folding Stats. Also it is possible to see your latest received WU's here:

I think it has to do with the points being registered later, compared to when you finish them. Both on the EOC end, caused by the 3 hour window, and also because the F@H servers sometimes take a long while before they give out points.

Hmm.. Maybe it was a strange coincidence, but usually I don't get 800K points in 3 hours. (considering my videocard has about 1.6M PPD and my CPU has about 20K PPD)

But I guess it could have been a strange coincidence.

Considering ec2spot is doing 5 times as much as what the entire PCMR's folding team with 16,000 active folders is doing, I think it's safe to assume it's actually Amazon and not just an individual.

AWSFolds is now outperforming the Default team. Both are on 10.5B points for the week so far but looks like AWSFolds is ahead in daily production. They did 3.2B in yesterdays daily compared to Defaults 2.6B.

From that (the 6pm WU worth 354k pts) it looks like you got one of the big GPU work units that takes a few hours to work. You might not have completed any work units during that time. It could have also stalled waiting to download a work unit for an hour or so which could also explain why you didn't get points for that time period.

Check the logs for the client to see if you completed any work units during that time, remember to adjust for the time zone difference between Folding@home (UTC) and EOC (CDT).
