Have any of you noticed which project it was on ? I've had it 5 or 6 times  but this morning is the 1st time it didn't recover. All the other times it resumed from the checkpoint and finished.

When I went looking in the logs it's happend on both my RX 580 and RX 590 both of which are running stock and it was Project - 14541 everytime.

Is it just 1 project we are all having problems with ?

that project had both my RX580s hardlocked this morning.  had to reboot the computers to get them to run...if you check here http://folding.compson.me/summary.html you will see both are happy now (my bad one was job 14543)

Anyone running a GTX 1080 for folding? I want to know what are some other people's ppd is for this card. I'm currently at ~801,198 ppd.

I'm using a 1080 as my main folder.  Averaging about 270,000 PPD, but gotta consider I'm also folding with two other machines sans GPUs, and I've only been folding for 15 days.  Not sure if this helps you or not.

My country just reported that we just went over 1000 infected cases and more are being reported everyday. Can the virus just die in a fire.

Argentina is in the same situation, even if the real number should be higher but the test are being done a bit slow... but yeah... this virus is a real pain and a real danger.

Must be something with your connection/firewall/AV blocking stuff then.

So I just tried it on a machine outside of that network, this also appears to fail, although the errors are slightly different:

Used my lunch break to configure a Google Cloud 2xP100 instance to go alongside the rest of my free trial cloud gear!

Almost at a juicy 7m PPD..  It's beautiful!

Its honestly not that difficult, if you follow a decent guide, but every platform is different.  Some are far more complicated to configure than others

I have to say after configuring GPU servers on all 3 of the 'big players', I think the google ones were by far the easiest to set up.

Azure was a massive pain, with AWS being fairly simple, but made slightly more complicated due to to having to request 'spot instances' to get a decent price.

Google was just a few clicks, and off we go.  Granted Google support 'spot instances' too, but they only last 24 hours at a time.

See now google was the one I tried and got stuck cause the guide said to look for "gift" I couldn't find it.

You followed the guide by @Metallus97 ?

Yea, they moved the banner, but you can just go into your billing page and convert to a paid trail to open up the GPU options.

I wonder if I'm calculating correctly though.  I took the average of my PPD from Exterme's stats:

I'm using a 1080 in my main rig...usually estimates around 1M PPD. Yesterday was the first day since joining on the 17th that all machines got steady production.

Looks like there's a strong demand for 1080s right now.  They're not usually this high priced in the US.  This is from Newegg.com

In light of recent heated disagreements between myself and @Gorgon, I regretfully announce my resignation from the LTT folding team.

Henceforth, I will be folding for EVGA's team. I will finish up these last WUs for LTT and then switch.

Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

For those interested in the details, you can read my full resignation letter: https://folding.den-fi.com/foldingresignationletter.html

The reaction to this was absolutely hilarious. Thanks for all the lovely PMs and encouragement though lol.

It was definitely an April Fool's joke and I'm not going anywhere.

Glad no one got too upset lol.

My 6yr old son and I are making a slow but steady contribution to this! We were too late to register with LTT but we're contributing to the team. We made a video about upgrading an old idle PC to dedicate to it. It only has a Core2Quad 9505 and a Radeon HD 5770, but it's working really hard! Thanks for the inspiration to join in Folding@Home!

Here's our short video - links to the full-length one:
