Has anyone else been having issues where they've successfully completed a work unit and uploaded it but not received any credit for it? For those work units the logs are also showing an estimate of only the base credit (no QRB). Is that an error with the server receiving the work unit or something?

*snip*

Neither of these have been credited at all.

Has happened to me twice in the last 24 hours. Different work units, different collection server. They both came from the same work server: 40.114.51.201 which failed

Could it be because they're failing to upload to the work server and are going to the collection server instead?

It could be that point allocation from collection servers is just delayed...

I could now only acquire CPU assignments from the server, the GPU assignments continued failed to download in the middle of a downloading process.

Just logged back into the forums to say that I'm definitely participating. Gonna start switching over my rigs from boinc to FAH. My only concern about the event is the lack of work units as my rig needed to wait about 30 minutes for a WU.

Server Status is showing it as online currently with 2 hours of uptime, but it was a few hours ago since my last one failed to upload to it so it's possible (and likely) it was down at the time it tried to send the results back.

It's possible, but one of the work units is from over 12 hours ago so even with the server issues I would think it should have gone through by now. It's possible that it might still come through in a few days or something.

Might just be something for people to look out for in their logs if they think they are missing credit for WUs they've completed.

If there's still major issues with work unit assignment I believe the minimum requirements for the event will be reduced.
Event starts in 2 days so we'll see what the situation is then.

Sounds good. Any idea if the FAH team plans to open source their collection and distribution server code? I don't mind spinning up my server at home and running it to distribute WUs for people in my locale (Asia). I know the FAH team is working with linus to run a server in their office but not sure if the code is open or closed source.

You would need to talk to them about it. Most of the servers are run by the universities themselves. I may be wrong but I believe the Azure servers are only recent additions to assist with the increased demand.

I have completed 12 work units now, but I haven't received any QRB points. I want to qualify for the event but without QRB I won't be able to.

Is it because my system completed 4 WUs before I received my passkey?  Maybe there's a delay on QRB point awards?

Will do. I'll probably shoot an email off to the FAH team about it.

I doubt they would want any old servers in the mix, it is active research data and there needs to be control over that as it is actually highly valuable IP (potentially) plus it requires a lot of storage and good internet to be of any real use.

Ah whoops, sorry, I must have misread/copied&pasted the wrong IP address.

I did have issues with 40.114.52.201 though, I have a work unit that's been waiting to upload to that collection server for at least a day now.  That's when I pinged it and saw it was down ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You do need to have them tied to the passkey, yes. Don't worry if you've already gotten it set up.

I set up my system yesterday to start folding while idle. Today my computer shutdown on it own twice while idle and folding. Does this have anything to do with the folding that it been running? Perhaps temperature got too high on CPU as i have seen it go as high as 100C. If anyone have experienced this behaviour please let me know.

I run i7 4790k@4.4GHz and GTX980Ti, medium power.

I second that 100C is wayyyyy to hot and is probably throttling the CPU.  A quick search suggested that 100C the rated tj max (built in throttle to prevent damage to the processor)  for your processor.  So something like 75-80C is probably a high ceiling for overclocking that.

I have a delid 8700K running @ 5.2 AVX-0 well tested and running like that for months.  I also have been running a Strix 1070 TI (+800 mem, +170 core) that has been tested with longer OCCT runs to verify no memory errors.

F@H proved that wrong.

I didn't want to give up my OC completely so:
For my CPU i put it to AVX-2 and bumped up the voltage by a tiny bit (0.05V)  it's 24/7 folding stable now.
For my GPU It has taken days and multiple failed projects, but I think that a decrease of 20% core speed and 35% memory speed made it stable now.

I can now sleep/ work without worrying much about folding stability while sheltering in place. yay.

How much Vcore do you run on your 8700k? I haven't been able to get mine stable over 4.8 GHz no matter what I do to it :/ it can run 4.8 at like 1.25Vcore, I've only pushed up to 1.32 Vcore on it because temps were getting uncomfortably hot (that was before I delided it) but it still wouldn't run past 4.8GHz. I've read that you can run up to 1.4Vcore on the 8700k daily with out issues, but going beyond that is risky for daily use.

Please stop suggesting this. Beta WUs are supposed to be for members of the Beta test team who report on new work units that are being prepared for production. People working on these units who don’t report back on them can delay WUs getting elevated to Advanced then to General distribution.

Normally this is not as much of a problem but the researchers are rushing COVID Work Units out the door and are even more reliant on getting feedback these days.

If you must suggest changing the client-type then please suggest Advanced instead.

how do you go about putting it on advance as I would like to do this.

---I will remove this if it is not OK, but it says how to do this on their homepage, so I think it is OK.---
https://foldingathome.org/support/faq/installation-guides/configuration-guide/

click on the configure button, click on the slots tab, select the slot, then click on edit.  scroll down in the new screen, click on the add button on the bottom, then Name: client-type with Value: advanced. click ok and save.

Yeah you should probably disable your OC, especially if you are hitting 100C, for one folding hammers everything super hard, so even if your system is mostly stable folding will definitely bring out any instabilities. Second if you are hitting 100C then you don't have nearly enough cooling to be running that OC under load.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have dial back to stock freq for now to see how it go, probably have to do some cooler cleaning too. Sitting around 65-75C on load now, which I guess is reasonable for long sustain load like this. Shouldn't have push that far when i only have a hyper T4.
