Anyone else annoyed by Anthony comments?

Every time a new video in LTT features Anthony, the comments are full of supportive comments for him. 

And don't get me wrong, he has a very clean presentation, he's knowledgeable and he has a nice voice. Besides, he's not overhyping things he's excited about, he's not your typical over-energetic youtuber. I myself like Anthony a lot.

 

But it's been months now, and still, every single time a video features him, the comments are EXCLUSIVELY Anthony related. You can't even find comments about the content of the video itself, because no matter how much you scroll down, it's just things like "I saw Anthony in thumbnail, I clicked immediately!" or things like that. It was fine the first 2 or 3 videos following his first appearance, but now?

Do things never get old for some people?

Who actually bothers to read YouTube comments?

Why do you care?

 

He's a great host. People love him. So, they comment as such. What are you hoping to read?

Not everyone watches every single LTT-video, so not everyone has actually even seen Anthony yet, or as many times as you. So that's one reason. Secondly, you've never been a fan of anything or anyone? People can literally be fangirling/-boying about some celebrity or a band or a brand or whatever for decades, and some people do that with Anthony.

 

Besides, if you're talking about Youtube....Well, Youtube is all about easy consumption of media, not a platform for encouraging actual conversation. You want conversation? Then come to the forums for that or visit something else that's actually meant for conversation. It's just silly to expect anything other than easy throwaway-comments on Youtube.

I can understand that since I am quite like that myself. Still, I do also understand the way other people do obsess about things/people, even if I don't have a habit of doing it myself.

My favourite hoster at LTT was and might always be Luke... I really miss when he'd host LTT and Techquickie videos. :/

 

Anthony however has filled up the gap and while I don't personally have a whole lot interest on the videos he's normally in like the hackintosh ones he does put up a great work at it.

 

People in general seems to appreciate Linus giving him room on the screen and are being supportive and vocal so Linus continues to share screen time with Anthony, we all know LTT as a whole does what "sells best".

YouTube’s comment section is hot garbage, I wouldn’t let it bother you or give it much of your time. If I look at it, it’s just for a few laughs.

I can understand where you are coming from, but I personally do not read much youtube comments. For people that do I can see why it would be annoying if you wanted more comments on the actual product and not directed at Anthony haha. But that is what the youtube comment section is.

Youtube comments are like every comment in this thread aside from the OP one... I couldn't be bothered to read them.  :)

 

I may accidentally read the top couple that are visible on screen when the video plays... but I never bother to scroll down and I have made perhaps half a dozen comments of my own in 10yrs.

I'm always happy to see positive comments about Anthony, because he's very knowledgeable and a great presenter.

 

I'm not sure why anyone would be salty about positive feedback...

Honestly this is ironically a little frustrating since I check the comments to see what worked and what didn't, what people want to see and what they don't, etc. It's certainly flattering and honestly the positivity is part of why I'm getting more comfortable doing on-screen stuff, but it's kind of a double-edged sword from that feedback perspective.

Honestly same. I'm glad I can sort-of evoke the memory of Luke's more in-depth stuff on the channel, since that was some of my favourite content, too.

This is really the most surprising thing for me. The first time I was in a video on YouTube, I expected to get torn apart and was like "oh crap what have I done". I don't think I looked at the comments until the next day.
