The minimum requirements need to be met DURING the event in order to be eligible for event prizes.  So, many people are testing various things and getting their first units done now, so they can go full out during the event.  The only thing that must be done PRIOR to the event is signing up (which you can do with 0 units submitted, so long as you already know your folding username).

Noice! And speaking of GPUs of multiple types, how do I manage them? I can't see temps or usage stats or anything and F@H recognizes them but won't actually use them. I know I can't install drivers for all of them, would Linux be a better option or is there a way to manage them on WIndows?

In F@H you need to add those gpus from settings -> slots. Also it is good practice to leave 1 cpu core per gpu free, nvidia gpus need that.

I only use gpu, like you said CPU isn't that effective with only few cores. But some people want to use every last MHz of computing power they have.

@TVwazhere I too have made gains. Would be higher but I did an slightly too aggressive overclock before leaving for work. (2100 on Core, 4000 on memory)

Still confused as to why it says the 24hr average is 78K but I did 547K in the past 24hrs 

What exactly is it averaging then?
