Would I be able to get Linus or someone that works for him to build a computer for me, for enough money?

winterfate

I think I trust Linus with my life, to say nothing of my computer. Any chance I could get him or someone under him to build and ship me a water cooler, high tier rig? Still clumsy super novice who’s never built a pc.

No. There's plenty of professional PC builders out there, who work for PC stores or system integrator, that can do this for you for a small fee. (Usually 50$ to over 150$)

If Linus or his team started doing this for you, others would show up demanding the same thing and it would never end which means they wouldn't be able to make videos.

the whole idea of this channel is you do it by yourself

trust linus on build something after he broke that $10k cpu, between many other things, well, i wouldnt trust my life on him, nor my pc, sorry

show you learned something watching his channel and other tech channels too, build your own and feel proud you learned how to build a pc and enjoy the process, as well as using the pc

They are not system builders, they are youtubers. Are they capable, of course they are but they aren’t in that business. If you contacted someone directly and made it worth their time then MAYBE, however as mentioned it opens up a floodgate. Also if someone contacts them to build a pc and they take the job on, and the person isn’t happy with the final product then all of the sudden they have someone dragging the company name through the mud, not saying the OP would, but there are shitty people out there that would

Jay is only youtuber I know who has built computers for a living. Linus didn't do it (Ivan was the builder for NCIX). Jay has said that its too much work and annoyance to be worth it. So it either needs to be challenge and something to make views for their channel. Or you have to be someone some kids know from somewhere. So Pewdiepie or Ninja probably.

For the right amount of money, anything is possible.

I highly doubt you'd have the right amount of money, and even if you did, it's better to get it for less money somewhere else.

Unless you really just want to be able to say he made it for you.

And if you're willing to wait over a year... I loved how he started a build and by the time he finished it, over a year later the GPUs he used were no longer the flagships lol.

You can easily find someone to put a PC together for you but Linus himself? I mean I won't say that's impossible if you wanna throw like 10k ~ 15k on his hand just for the building service but that'd be the kind of thing you'd only do if you have far more money than you know what to do with.

@LogicalDrm I might be remembering wrong but didn't LTT like 3 or 4 years ago would actually put together LTT styled rigs like:

And actually sell them? I understand this is far from the most profitable service and as is today it makes no sense for Linus to bother with these but like every one said... if you truly have the cash for it...

I don't remember them selling any finished systems. Ever. They have had giveaways, most notably Asus ROG Rig Reboot and LG Ultrawide Festival. I think also one with be Quiet! etc. years ago. But never with full systems. Just logistics of shipping one outside Canada is too much. And shipping anything before they started to handle merch themselves.

If you sponsor a video where he builds your computer they might do it. Don't expect it to be cheap.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I used to be the builder for NCIX's high end water cooled systems (before I hired Ivan)

If you have a lot of money and a special rig, maybe?

You can ask them to make a sponsored video of your build or something similar and put in the contract that they have to deliver a fully build and functioning system to you with the provided parts.

As Linus said, you can pay them to say/do something, but you can't pay for an opinion (or something like that).

With how big LMG is I doubt you have enough money tho but hey if you have an oil rig somewhere or connection with someone from the UAE, who knows.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

Everyone has a price, but I wouldn't be comfortable charging an individual what mine would be. It wouldn't be solid tech advice.

I'd tell them if they have money to burn they should buy something from Origin, Digital Storm, Maingear (gaming) or Puget (workstation).

Well hell, your recommendation is as good as your own hands. ^u^   I honestly just got kinda spooked after watching your "are manufacturers of pcs ripping you off" series with Janice from accounting. And then in awe of the video you did with Riley about the price point pcs.

@LinusTech Quick question- any idea if you guys will be putting your sister channels on Floatplane? I'm totally willing to pay 3 dollars for each individual channel.

All the channels are on Floatplane as part of LTT, all videos get posted there from TechQuickie, TechLinked, etc.

Not likely. They're an entertainment/media company, not a system builder.

You could try someone like JayzTwoCents or BitWit, but you'd be best off just going with a normal system builder like CyberPowerPC or iBuyPower.

Here are some of Linus' videos about common system builders. (Aka System Integrators, or SIs)

Maybe if you beg Dennis enough and offer him a good time he'll do it. lmao
