Well either way, 105 octane by itself means nothing unless you tell us which rating method was used.

125.9 pence per litre of Diesel at the Tesco near me in Scotland and that's cheap. So about $6 per US Gallon. For UK Gallons (about 4.5 litres) it's £5.73 so about $4.11

US gas in cereal is of lower quality. In the EU and especially in Germany there are much tighter regulations

and we also have (EXPENSIVE) 105Octane

As others have noted, it’s the same gas, just with different measurements. Here’s a handy conversion chart:

http://www.pencilgeek.org/2009/05/octane-rating-conversions.html

Euro 105 Octane is US 100 Octane. Not common at all, but definitely available (especially at or near racetracks).

As others have pointed out, having a higher octane fuel is not inherently better.

Higher octane essentially (lay mans explanation, obviously skipping over huge details) means that the fuel is more stable and less prone to pre-ignition or causing knock.

If your engine is rated for US Octane 87 (bog standard "Regular" fuel - or around Euro Octane 91), then there's literally no benefit in the vast majority of cases for using higher octane fuel.

Source? That's a damn huge claim.

Indeed, higher Octane is needed for some specific usages - otherwise people are just wasting their money if they are using higher octane than their car actually requires.

Many mixes in the US include cleaners for fuel injectors and cylinder heads. If a cat is getting gunked up faster, then it's doing it's job.

A lot of Europe, including Germany, uses the RON octane rating. The US uses the AKI rating, which is (RON + MON)/2 (MON is another rating). 95 RON is about 90 AKI for most petrol types, which is close enough to the most common lower grade fuel available in the US.

So again, octane rating is useless by itself unless you give which rating system it used.

I'm so loss in here since all use gallon instead of liters and like Mira has said the "octane rating" seems not to be universally the same...

Either ways I use here in Brazil a gasoline called "Petrobrás Podium" which they claim to be the best gasoline in the world with Octane (IAD) rating of 98 and 25mg/Kg Maximum content of sulfur.

I pay around US$ 1,33 per liter.

Basically everyone but the US sells per litre. People have been converting into Gallons to appease ye Americans. Also of note: Imperial Gallons and US Gallons are not the same thing (because, you know, Murica).

FYI, the IAD Octane rating is the same as used in North America - we call it PON (Pump Octane Number - It's the mean between the RON and MON Octane ratings). But IAD and PON are the same thing. Europe mostly just uses RON.

I pay about $2.30/gal right now for E-10, and 2.80/gal for regular no ethanol like 89 Octane in US-OK right now.

Like 2-3 months ago it was like 2.05/gal for E-10 and 2.25/gal for regular no ethanol, and I miss that :(

The US has standards for detergent in fuel for emissions. AFAIK that's it. You can buy super duper octane race fuel but it's uncommon. I think the only place you can get it near me is at Portland International Raceway.

Our premium is "92" octane, but from what local tuners have told me, it's not radically different than 91 and 93 is definitely better.

If we're talking about ethanol-free, it most certainly does not have any reference for quality. Ethanol also shouldn't be gunking up your engine. It may wear rubber parts more, which, if you have an oil filter, is accounted for, but manufacturers and ECUs have compensated for corn in our fuel for a long time now.
