I prefer a good office chair instead, as it has serious ergonomical features than the gaming chair to promote and maintain good body posture for being sit on it for hours.

Not really, what I did was go to staples and pick out what feels comfy for me.  "Gaming" chairs is just a fancy of way of adding bright colors and some seat tilt feature with the cut out holes to make it look cool.

Nah, they just look cool and are an accent to your setup.

If you want one that's decent quality and pretty comfortable I got the Respawn 110 Racing at Sam's Club for $120. Comfortable, looks cool, and quality is surprising for the price. MicroCenter's in-house brand Inland actually makes a good one at an okay price as well. Don't spend $300+ on a racing chair, if you're willing to spend that much I'd start going for quality and comfort over looks.

Don't get a gaming chair. They offer next to nothing over any other chair, aside from looks. As has been stated, most are of poor design and quality as well.

If you're on a budget and live in the US, check out Massdrop. They have a Massdrop designed chair that actually looks quite decent. Considering picking up one myself.

They look nice but the price is over the top, at least for me...

Yeah, not everyone wants to spend $1,500 US on a chair :P

You can often find refurbished or open box Herman Miller lower end models for around $300.

I'm going to need a new chair in the near future but a gaming chair is not even a consideration. I get that they look cool with their racing seat inspired looks but I have trouble believing they match a nice plush leather office chair when it comes to comfort. I mean, surely there are some that prioritize comfort but I still think the classic office chair segment will always offer better comfort options.

besides looks none really. It is best if you go to a local store and sit on the chairs yourself. It isnt too smart to buy chairs online as the it may not be comfortable and quality may disappoint you once it arrives. trust me it would be a pain to return a chair you dont like

If you want a gaming chair=Dxracer. The other ones are crap. Or get a good (and comfortable ofc) office chair.

If you are going to buy DXRacer I recommend Iron series. One of the most comfortable ones.

The only thing that makes a chair a 'gaming' chair is the marketing for it.

That being said, most 'gaming' chairs are not very comfortable or ergonomic so generally it's a better idea to just find 'a desk chair' that is comfortable for you and go with that.

However... I went for a gaming chair due to size and I'm overall happy with it because I couldn't find any normal desk chairs that were this big ( Maxnomic Titanus XL if you want to check it out - this thing is massive).

See, it also depends on your setup. Personally, I use a black leather and steel office chair with my completely black setup. Looks absolutely fabulous.

Who needs fancy graphics and high resolutions when you can get a 60 FPS frame rate on iGPUs?

I dunno, I have an Anda Seat Dark Knight and really like it, comfortable for me, but I have seen a lot of gaming chairs that were complete shit. Id definitely suggest buying at a physical store so you can try them out before buying. Also keep in mind many are stiff out of the box and require a bit of break in

Gaming chairs are different.  Its like sitting in a car front seat.  They are very firm and grab your body tightliy like a Porsche seat.  This sorta throws you into game mode, and yes you will play better.
