Person of interest, its SCI-FI and surreal

the show is from Nolan and JJ abrams
POI is not the Batman show we want, it's the Batman show we deserve. - they actually make fun of this dialogue in one of the episode
it's all about how the game Watch dogs was set up, i cant really say much without spoiling the season 1 Holy shit moment.

Hey everyone, i'm looking for some new TV series to watch since the series i watch are on mid-season.

I like Sci-Fi series war series, mystery series, pos-apocalyptic time are one of my favorites.

I watch:

The Walking Dead

The 100

Supernatural

Shannara Chronicles

Jericho

Westworld

Going through my Plex TV shows, the only things I have that would be somewhat along the lines you're asking for:

The X-Files

Star Trek: TNG
Sleepy Hollow
Elementary (you say not really into Sherlock, but it's an alright "modern" adaptation)

Nothing really much else is coming to mind at the moment.

everyone i know, including my neighbour's pet lizard likes the good doctor. i don't.

i cant watch it anymore just after 2 episodes, it's just a cheap, over engineered feel-good drugs.

i have total respect folks who suffer autism spectrum, and i use the word autism in its orignal meaning, unlike those 4chan manbabies who use it as a curse word.

but i just dont like this all powerful being, or ubermensch in german, a genius doctor who can fixes anyone deemed untreatable by his (often mediocre) peers, because he has spider sences and photographic memory due to he have some sort of mental disorders (like daredevil?) , and always getting female viewers' hearts with his pretty (admittingly) cute babyface.

while a bunch people look down on him because his disabilities, there always another bunch of people holding up on him, do the talkings for him, play as cheap props to push the story aflow.

cheap, fake and insincere.

especially i learned that the series is based on korean drama, and it makes me hate it even more.

david shore is a brilliant producer, and i love House, but this, urrggg...

why everybody post the spec of their rig here? i dont! cuz its made of mashed potatoes!

FYI Daredevil doesn't have a mental disorder. His face was splashed with toxic chemicals that (in comic book tradition) caused changes to his brain and blinded him while augmenting his hearing to a massive degree.

Not comparable at all to a genetic condition like Autism.

my point isn't about comparing childhood accident to genetic defect.

what i mean is the deus ex machina in the good doctor is too much, too over the top. pull that trick in superhero series is fine, not on medical drama.

i can live with gnarly chemicals somehow enhanced matt's other senses, a young doctor with spider sense because he doesn't have the ability to communicate? nahh...that's not medical drama should be, at least to me. "see im right, im always right, do the talks for me or you'll die in hellfire." to me, the two episodes can sum up in that sentence.

House is not the "idiot savant" type, nor a superhero, just a cynical drug addicting asshole, who happened to be a brilliant detective who observes. and like all good detectives do, he makes mistakes, a lot. that's the doctor i like, not a "always right" baby face who lives by others' pity.

Yeah I saw it last Thursday on the advanced screening night. Seeing it again tomorrow.

It's maybe not the best MCU film, but it was damn fun, really enjoyable. And casting was perfect for all concerned. Ben Mendelsohn was a surprise favourite.

I don’t know if this was mentioned but Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) is really good. Each show is about an hour and a half. You have to watch very carefully though- if you fall asleep for a second you’ll have no idea what’s going on. Really good show though and they’re all available on Netflix

I got a ps5 and a pc pretty ballin

Me too, i didn't liked a few things only, Ronan shoud have a more important role in all of this and he was frightened to confront her, even in the Guardians of the Galaxy he confronted Thanos. That's one thing i didn't like it.

The Battlestar Galactica (ones from the 2000s) series I really enjoyed across all of the seasons. If you like Sci-fi, that's pretty binge worthy.

Each James Bond movie is significantly different from the rest.

The older ones (Pre-1990's Golden Eye) are particularly "cheesy". The 1990's and early 2000's Pierce Brosnan James Bond movies are decent action flicks but still a little cheesy.

The Daniel Craig James Bond movies (Casino Royale and ongoing) are absolutely fantastic movies - period - and just so happen to be good action/spy movies too.

The greatest Bond films are the Sean Connery ones, particularly From Russia with love and Goldfinger. I thought the Timothy Dalton were OK as far as 80's films go. The Roger Moore ones, I concede your point.

Back to TV series suggestions;

Happy, weird and gloriously over the top violent

Maniac, 80's sci-fi vibe and a bit of a headfuck

The Wire, quite old so not sure where you might find it besides DVD, but the best TV show ever.

izombie, brain in neutral guilty pleasure

Extremely agree here. BSG (2003) was fucking awesome. From the miniseries all the way to the end of the series proper - even the direct release movies were great (The Plan was a little underwhelming, plot wise, but was still a very good character piece).

To each their own - there's a huge amount of people who really love the Connery films, and the older ones in general. I'm not especially fond of them myself, as the cheesiness of them gets a bit much, but I realize I'm in the minority with that opinion.

May be an anime, but JoJo's has been one of the most unironically fun shows I have ever watched and now read.

Also anyone else hyped that we're finally at the Metallica Arc?

Who needs fancy graphics and high resolutions when you can get a 60 FPS frame rate on iGPUs?
