Nvidia is getting way to greeding with their rediculous prices for the 2080ti and RTX Titan.

amd wont do that until at least navi 20 in a year, amd does need a halo product but gcn before they increase mount the shader engines they wont be able to compete at the very top, they also need to move away from polaris soon as those cards are getting quite old design wise, 1070 1080 performance for cheap is a place in the market they can easily address without having the problems of changing gcn, navi 20 will probably be that change before we move away from gcn completely with next gen

The GPU I am guessing will just be a stop gap for a few months until Navi is ready.

Looks to be an 8 core Zen2 ES showed up in the last couple of days. Which should mean that the motherboard partners have them for final verification testing. AMD probably is having everyone hold off until after CES, so the leak mill can get fired up afterwards.

To be fair the RX580/90 is a much better value for your money than any 1060 variant. AMD also has revamped their drivers to the communities wants and I bet a 1080 their GPUs won't cost $1300-$2500

Drivers and control panel on Radeon cards are like decade ahead of NVIDIA's. And this is coming from someone who has had NVIDIA cards for last 4 years. Before that I had only Radeons all the way back to GeForce 7600GT which was my last GeForce that I owned.

 

NVIDIA's control panel looks dated, buggy, glitchy and clumsy. The GeForce Experience is useless bloat that you need to install separately and requires registration to work. I don't really know who the hell uses its "optimizations" and the recording stuff could and should be in drivers itself.

 

Maybe AMD doesn't have driver part all sorted out to perfection due to budget restrictions, but software around it is million times better and feature loaded. Not only looks better it is fast and responsive, has built in overclocking, monitoring, OSD features, built in recording and tons of other stuff. NVIDIA's CP just feels like it's still stuck in year 2005. Because it looks petty much the same on GTX 1080Ti in 2018 as it did on GeForce 7600GT back in 2005...

Now that I've tried chill, hope AMD will release some decent cards cause that piece of software did manage to make my gaming sessions quitter 

One day I will be able to play Monster Hunter Frontier in French/Italian/English on my PC, it's just a matter of time... 4 5 6 7 8 9 years later: It's finally coming!!!

I do not need AMD to compete at the high end enthusiast level. But if you can get in the realm of 2080 for much less that is all the majority really need.  

 

But speaking of source material. People love to toss salt at a WCCF link. But how many times have they been right in recent times.

I was thinking the same thing.  I could see them potentially making some of the lower end Ryzen 3000's on the GF process, but it wouldn't make sense for them to release the new series, without at least their top tier chips being on 7nm.
