Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

6 foot, on each side? Or just widebody one side and call it good?

The totaled Prius looked just as much like ass as it did on the factory showroom. Only difference was the missing windows covered with plastic, and the aerodynamically superior crumpled body panels.

nah dude 3 feet on each side. ill never tip over.

as long as it is readable by the inspection places, doesnt throw up any CELs and passes emissions its fully legal(and in some places dont hit a power % over stock)

Drifting in snow is easy with any car as long as it isn't FWD, I've done it before. And any engine can be retuned + I'm in Canada not Europe. The C30 can have a AWD system added to it though relatively easily

Tried again today, still no luck. Can't really rotate it that far, only a little room to rotate either way before it bangs up against metal. This is as far clockwise as it would go.

C30 basically just needs the rear floor swap from a V50/S40 with the AWD bits

As far as these things go it's pretty easy, most parts just bolt into place

Im fairly certain a floor from a completely different model doesnt "just bolt into place"

This shows what you have to do for the conversion.

So its a case of mounting the rear end, not swapping a floor

Aha? Going through a tight turn in bad conditions at 50mp/h is not "not doing it on purpose".

I think we have intersections that are larger than some small countries...

I, once, did a 90° turn in my WRX going a bit over 50MPH. Why? I had no brakes. Pedal to the floor, top of second gear to slow down, nothing worked.

Didn't hit anything, didn't wreck it, and managed to limp it home and got it fixed.

Approaching a T intersection, with a straight up vertical face of a hillside screaming at me at over 50MPH probably took a good 10 years off the end of my life.

That just bites man.

Since I posted about my project alot has changed and the work goes on - Slowly but better than not at all.
The body I had was in too bad of shape to be reused based on a condition vs cost to repair basis. It could have been fixed but it needed additional work on top of that to make it "Right" and was cheaper to just find another body, so I did.

For example I would have needed to change it from all drum brake to front discs yet many of these had discs from the factory so just getting a body that already had it was one reason, another was it has features the old one didn't including "Hideaway Headlights" which was an option some came with and is a desirable feature.

This is the old body:
DSCF5882.thumb.JPG.b71fbec572d357addca0d18051ad90bb.JPG

And this is the "New" one:

100_0065.thumb.JPG.f021444e8d6c502774327e2c39748064.JPG

Looks much worse than it actually is, more solid where it counts than the old body is and overall will be cheaper to get done so that's how the project is going.
More later as work progresses.
