Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

It may have two crank shafts, but no cams, no valves, no lifters, no timing chains, no timing tensioners etc. Two strokes are mechanically simple, although this is admittedly a complex two stroke.

Not really complex ... older Yamaha and Suzuki bikes used twin counter-rotating cranks in a 4 cylinder setup .

This is pretty much that , only laid flat ( vertical )

removing junk from your intake certainly doesn't hurt...

I think they do help. But it may not be a big difference. If it's not too expensive, I don't see why you shouldn't do it unless it like voids a warranty or something

For DI engines, yes. Port injected engines, not so much.

Don't have any warranty to worry about. My gti uses DI so maybe. Went with a APR catch can. Probably could have gotten a cheaper set up but meh I don't like using cheap parts in my car, wasn't that expensive either though.

Finally, I'm not the only Saab here, mine's just a little bit newer, and more broken I'm sure

Green one was / is a 2000 Aero 9-5 m/t I picked up for $400 as a parts car (Honestly just wanted the wheels for my wagon and it was cheaper to buy the whole car)

Blue one is my 2000 9-5 2.3t that is fully loaded other than factory cooled / heated seats (Has factory heated, grabbed a set of cooled / heated out of the parts car)

I've not done all too much to my wagon, wheels, intake, turbo swap, stereo, euro spec indicators and side markers, OEM roofrack cross bars. Wagon is currently dead, looking to do a full rebuild of the motor and upgrade stuff all along the way. Also looking for a last gen 9-3 Aero wagon, and a griffin front bumper for that if I can find one state side.

Can't hurt. I've seen people create them out of water seperators that people usually use with air compressors to keep condensation out of the line.

Slowly building a CAI intake for the Camaro. I should have just bought a proper CAI but I tried to save some money and retain the stock air box. Intyake consists of an Airaid MIT, a 3.25 MAF adapter, and an AEM Dryflow cone filter. At this pioint its really just a SRI, but i'm not done yet.

Was hard to get the lighting right for this one but any ideas on what color to go for for the seats?

The seats are the the majority of the brown In the car so I guess it could be a little off from the accents elsewhere and be ok. There’s no getting originals... so Idk what else to do

Compared against passenger seat seat since driver seat may be faded too much due to wear & tear. That’s really what needs to be fixed idk if you can see the tears in one of the pics...

I say middle one top row of this picture. And I didn't know you'd still stay with leather considering it doesn't have much benefit over cloth.

leather looks better...I like cloth but it looks cheap...

Good news is unlike the mazda leather im noticing theirs is much softer. The mazda leather is pretty flat/hard/stiff

the one you picked out is "Chocolate", the other one is "Mitt brown". @vinyldash303 picked chocolate too

So are you gonna just do one seat, are you gonna do both just to match? And I would expect the mazda leather to soften up after some use.

the mazda leather actually hardens with use from what I read... and I can attest to that, my car being 16 years old.

And of course I'd have to do both.... It's still a grand though and that's with ME installing the seat covers myself -_____-

sigh

I actually got quoted $2000 from a local place lol.. no real way to fix the torn seat without replacing the leather is what they tell me...

Well maybe some leather conditioner might soften it the same way hair conditioner can soften hair, but idk if it's just lost its elasticity over time.

And why not just leave the seats as they are? Do they really annoy you that much?

So it's that bad isn't it? Does the hardness of the leather play a role in all those rips?

yes. It hardens, stiffens, and once a crack forms, wants to pull it open more and more overtime.
