-snip-

I don't see the use of that tbh.

On a track you want the better protection from flying objects a hardtop provides.

On a sunday driven car just keep the soft top down... its just there for rain.

On a daily driver either get a hardtop for the better NVH or just use the normal softop... something like that is pretty pointless

The 110k mile 2012 Audi A6 in Glacier White has been replaced with a 22k mile 2014 Audi A6 also in Glacier White with more goodies

He said he will probably do a clear bra on the front bumper too this time as well as one of those fancy coatings over the whole car.

Those wheels tho!! I mean it’s a bad pic and the car is dirty after a 650 mile road trip home but they are soooo much better looking than the ones he previously had (put a reference pic in there for comparison)

As a bonus us this one has brand new tires and they are the same exact ones that he had bought for his last A6 just a week before the incident that totaled it! Score lol

Someone had a made a left on a busy road because they didn’t see my dad because another car was in the way and just guessed that no one was there and then Ka-blam-o

Other driver took the blame, car was totaled, dad got paid basically the same amount he originally payed for the car despite putting 30k miles on it in 1.5 years. So he just took his money and went buy the one he found in Tennessee this week for an epic deal since he loves his A6

He wanted to but he couldn’t find one within 700 miles of here that didn’t have an all-black interior in his price range.

Also long term reliability is a consideration. An S6 probably won’t last as long. We know the A6 is a great and reliable car and it’s fast enough. Especially with a tune (which he probably won’t get lol)

I actually need a new one. I pulled out the cheap porter cable one I had the other day and it just didn't do anything... Press the button and nothing happened. even with a known good battery.

It somehow killed itself whilst stored in a drawer.

Are you pretty well into the Porter Cable battery standard?

just a drill and an impact... so not really.

I dont really care what I get so long as it lasts a decent amount of time with occasional use.

I'm pretty deep into the dewalt battery standard at this point, but have never had an issue with them as long as you're buying the brushless stuff. Dewalt also makes some of their top tier tools in the US, so that's a plus in my book.

Milwaukee also makes some great stuff, I'd still recommend going for the brushless tool options though; the motors and batteries last a lot longer.

I've been really considering Dewalt as of late. my craftsman power tools are currently without a reliable battery and a replacement is 60 dollars. me and my dad really seem to like dewalt a lot.

I think Dewalt, Milwaukee and Bosch all make very good stuff. Bosch is trickier to get batteries and tools for though.

It's hard to go wrong with either a Dewalt or Milwaukee, as long as you buy the brushless tools. Take a look at which line has the tools that match what you want to do, and go that way. I've been with Dewalt for a while now and have half a dozen different cordless tools, and have never had a single issue. I know several people with the same experience with Milwaukee, too.

I was thinking a drill and an impact driver, since I might need those when I work on cars (though a ratchet will just do as well) and maybe a spotlight too just to see hard to reach areas.

Both Dewalt and Milwaukee will have awesome kits with a drill and impact driver. I'd say handle both and see what you like best.

Both also offer 3/8in and 1/2in impact wrenches too, which are awesome for working on cars.

I also finished the design of the reason for the impact driver this weekend.

New garden shed:

10x12ft with a 6x7ft overhead door, and a 32" entry door on the side. Small stepping stone leading up to building a 30x28ft shop (hopefully) next summer.

Why an overhead door so big? Sounds like as if you're making a separate garage or something lol

Ours is 20x12x12 with 1' overhangs on the front and back. We've had the design for years and have built it three times, but the original design didn't have that. We've improved it over the few times we built it
