Noctua officially releases 200mm fan

psychostudent

I wish the 20mm thick 40mm fans came out sooner. I would of used those in my switches/server.

I also wish they made a 180mm fan.

What's with the color anyways? They're nice fans, but pretty much every budget, mid, or high range case has a side panel, and most people's build aren't based off the poo emoji color scheme.

I suppose. Though why don't they make a black version? They have black fans, but not these ones in black.

A popular one would be the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv in all 3 variants of size. I think the Primo as well.

I personally think 200mm is a good compromise between noise and airflow but often not commonly found cause of the size

I think I remember reading were the colors came from. on their old site on the about the company page I think it said the colors were picked based off the owners wife's skin and hair color.

thats they the main face of the company is this girl.

Noctua's color offering can only be explained through Nintendo-like allergy to money.

I mean, sure, there's a place for budget fans (for example, me. I won't be paying $20 for a fan any time soon). But the only reason other expensive fans exist is color scheme matching, rgb, and other nuances. If Noctua diversified is catalog, it would kill that market.

I mean, how hard is it to order black plastic? You can literally get the exact plastic in black, probably for cheaper as it can hide recycled plastic colors, then sell it for the same price or more! They must be allergic to money. At least it's better than being the opposite (EA) and charging for everything.

The color scheme is their branding. If you ever get a glance of a fan with those colors you instantly think "Hey, that's Noctua!"

I can't really think of any other fan that can be identified as easy as a Noctua fan. Any other brand is "Just a fan". That says something, right?

I've been waiting for a reliably great 200mm fan to release since one of the stock fans in my Corsair 600T case became very noisy, so that I disconnected it. I hope this Noctua is that. The other 200mm case fans I've looked at are Phanteks', and Bit Fenix Pro's.

Holy cow, didn't they first show the 200mm fan off like 4-5 years ago?

I wonder what issues cropped up that it took them so long to iron out.

*edit*

Aaand they explained the issues in their press release.

Herp a derp.

This is good.
My HAF XB Evo has a mount for a 200mm fan at the top, and I've always kept it occupied, but every 200mm fan on the market has been crap. Finally something from Noctua.

I do hope they do an iPPC run of it, though.
