Unpopular Opinion Thread

Both Hilary and Trump are irritating. Hilary is FAR too socialist, and Trump is far too racist. As a UK resident, the US have a real problem on their hands. I have to say though, the emails are far less of an issue than Trump's massive wall plans.

The Core 2 Duo isn't that bad.

GT 610's aren't as awful as they seem.

The GTX 750 Ti is still relevant.

You can quite happily use an i7 for gaming, and the extra threads help in a lot of the games I play (BeamNG, Kerbal etc).

COD infinite warfare actually looks like it might be just about OK, although it's a rip off of every other scifi shooter ever.

Graphics are important to a game. If the storyline is great but the graphics are poor, I'm not likely to play it.

Linux for gaming isn't THAT bad...

Razer seem to have OK peripherals sometimes.

I used Vista back when 8.1 had just come out. There were no issues until that laptop BSODed and murdered it's graphics drivers.

30FPS doesn't seem smooth, especially for panning/zooming.

Overclocking a GPU doesn't do that much for performance.

Same thing applies with phones tbh. I'll gladly take a 1080p panel on a 5" screen.

I'm not convinced that your first opinion is "unpopular." Maybe it is in your area, but overall, I don't think so. Your second opinion would require a bit of reasoning behind. How are mobile only gamers "filth"? They are gamers nonetheless, even if they don't fit your subjective criteria. As far as the frame rate is concerned, I'm 100% certain you have a tolerance range of what you consider to be "playable." I bet if a game ran at 49FPS - which fits your criteria of "unplayable" - you would not notice anything unless you saw the frame rate of 49 displayed somewhere on the screen.

It's not that hard to notice frame rates under your Hz rate. I can see and feel the difference from 60 and 50 like it's night and day.

Hahem...

1) I think "gamer" marketing sucks. I own a K70 rgb and although it is an amazing piece of kit, I have backlight on gaming keys only. Also, why does it have to be black?

2) unless you are into heavy over clocking (and I mean competition level), custom pcb's are a rip off. Save your money and upgrade more often. There's a golden piece of advice.

3) I hate how high end GPU coolers feel like plastic toys. And why do motherboards need to be coloured like a circus? Seriously, I have an MSI gaming 7 because it was an amazing deal that came with an aio water cooler. I regret it. Should've bought an Asus white and black mono and be done with it.

4) I really dislike this new thing where people talk like a 960 or even 970 are not good 1080p cards.

5) I like windows 10.

6) gaming on a laptop is fine. It always has been and always will be. Just because you can't run a game at a million fps with super ultra high end mega settings it doesn't mean its not fine (check battleblock trailer).

7) Ultra graphics are over rated big time.

8) Witcher 3 has a nice story but its not a very good game.

9) People brought no man's sky disappointment on themselves. Don't preorder games.

10) ram speed matters... All speed matters :P

Agree with everything except number 10.

There's a fair bit of difference between 50 and 60. Percentage wise, it's about a 17% difference, so I might expect you to see the difference, but to see the difference between 60 and 59...No.

I disagree, I would gladly take a 4K, 61 cm (24") monitor If I had the money, and I can easily see the difference. I can see the difference on smaller screens to.

But on phones? yes its overkill.

But I wouldn't take a 4k screen before new GPU tho (have a AMD 7970).

And when I decide to get a 4K, I will get a 69 cm (27")

Many people say LTE is too slow/pings are unreliable for gaming, I've played games and even streamed on Twitch using T-Mobile LTE with zero problems... cost wise yes it'll be unrealistic but it works B|

That is absolutely true, but to a degree. When it works well, LTE will give you lower pings than many wireless home networks will, but the problem is the part when it works well. One moment you may have full LTE, the next one you may be getting 3G or even only EDGE. There is no rule what you may get the next moment, and thus is far less reliable than home network. Also if many people connect to your providers base station, you're in for a trouble.

1. I think the rift is better than vive. Used both.

2. I use a razer tiamat 7.1 headset and like the sound.

3. I prefer a membrane keyboard.

4. LTE is good enough assuming unlimited data for the non techie.

Agree with the Rift. I think the reason why most like the VIve more is because of the better experience because of controllers. Now that the controllers come I am interested in how well they perform and compare.

Funny, because I don't think Hillary is socialist enough :P, and I'm also living in the UK

If people think Core 2 Duos are bad, they haven't lived with laptop and desktop Pentiums, especially because of no hyperthreading and rather mediocre performance for gaming and long term general use on Windows with updates. Mind you, I'm using a laptop with an i3-350M that started lagging with Windows. I'm running a Linux distro called Tahrpup off a USB stick right now.

BO2, AW, BO3 and Infinite Warfare actually look like they innovated more than in Saints Row 3 and 4 and Mafia 3, because at least they added features instead of removing them (e.g. a more complex weapon customisation system and jetpacks)

Weapon customization is one of my favorite features in games, but I don't fancy trying CoD's community. My computing experience started with an LGA775 Pentium with HT, originally with 512MB of RAM, but that PC is some how still used.

Perhaps because you could use a modded Xeon that is much faster. I just want a new rig, because that ain't future proof and power-efficient.
