You can play (almost) any game on a controller that's not an RTS or MOBA, and many of them provide even better experience on a controller. Even for FPS for many people. I'm not one of them but I know many that prefer it over KBM.

I hate big phones, because I have smaller hands and I can't hold them or control them with one hand.

Just because something can be done, doesn't mean it is good, yes, you can play most games with a controller, but most of them are better with mouse and keyboard. Twin stick shooters and story games like Life is strange are truly better with a controller and racing games can be better with too if you don't have a wheel.

Back in the day (I'm talking ~2010 or before), Alienware actually made some pretty bangin' computers. My desktop is an Area-51 from 2010 and is still my main machine to this day, sans the original graphics cards, because Radeon HD 5870s, even in crossfire, are pretty potato in 2016.

 

My M15x laptop is from the same year, and the build quality on that thing is impeccable. The entire outer casing is comprised of heavy metal plating, and the laptop weighs around ten pounds. Yeah, the weight sucks, but I love the tank-like quality; you can't break it. The display is also fantastic. LED with vivid colors and absolutely no backlight bleed of any sort. If I could upgrade it and continue using it in 2016 for modern gaming, I would, but unfortunately I can't. The M-Radeon HD 5850 in it can't even handle Overwatch.

 

Despite this post gushing over Alienware, I would never, ever buy from them now. The build quality of their laptops has become pretty jank, and their desktops are even more overpriced than they used to be. I'm glad I know how to build computers now.

 

More on their laptops... I bought an Alienware 15 back in June. On arrival, it had three dead pixels in the display. Dell sent a tech out to replace it, and the replacement display showed a dead pixel in less than a week. The backlight bleed on both displays was also horrendous. It was to the point where you could notice the bleed even when that part of the screen was lit up with color.

What Nvidia is doing is really smart and only makes them more money faster and they have future income they can bank on so far out R&D isn't even something to debate. They have done this in the past but they will release a new architecture and it will have 25% better performance with new technologies to sell you on blah blah. Then they will release a refresh of that with again 25% or around that better performance same story. The thing is if they didn't prolong releases as the refresh of an architecture is already done before the first is released. Then every new generation we would see over 50% increases in performance. Sounds great and is great but makes Nvidia loose money when they could sell you 3 GPUs in the course of you buying 1 normally. With the Pascal refresh this will a refresh of a refresh of a refresh. All the node shrink did was allow them to brute force clock speeds to sell a very old architecture to make more money and buy time for Volta problems.

Budget minded hardware/peripherals get to much of a bad rap.  Some end up being amazing value for what they cost.  

 

Look at Redragon peripherals, for example.  They make budget gaming peripherals that are really great.  The Redragon M601 is only $13 and actually a good gaming mouse.  Their keyboards the K552 and K553 are both fully mechanical keyboards with blue switches for less than $40.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

I have no clue how their customer service is, but to be honest, id rather pay double + the price to have the peace of mind that when my Logitech/corsair peripherals have any problems that I can expect a brand new product to be shipped my way in a pretty reasonable time frame.

That's you.  Not everyone can do that though.  I love mechanical keyboards (blue switches are my favorite).  But I can't afford $60+ keyboards. 

I can afford a $40 mechanical keyboard with blue switches, though.

I am not knocking any budget parts by any means.

I have just had lots of problems with budget amazon peripherals and had their "customer service" do next to nothing about it. If I have had any problems with the more mainstream higher ticket items regardless of how small, they seem to be replaced, and very quickly.... as they should!

With Red Dragon I have not heard much negative about them tho, and it is nice to see them keep their prices lower while building a positive reputation.

GPUs are released in too fast a cycle. I honestly believe we would be better served by a slower release cycle instead of pressuring nvidia and d to release year after year.

 

And, the gtx 970 was probably one of the best GPUs ever made. Its price to performance ratio still is incredible and it made high end gaming affordable.

Air cooling is, and always will be, a better more reliable solution to water.

 

I have built both water & air rigs and the building process is slightly simpler for air, however this isn't my point of contention, air is just a simpler, quieter & just as effective solution as an AIO, people just need to realise that they NEED to spend ~£60 on a good air cooler to match their £60 AIOs instead of consistantly comparing AIOs to £20 CM Hyper212s or other budget air coolers.

 

However with high quality air you get:

Simplicity, 1 moving part vs 2 (Fan+pump)

Reliability, See above

Zero risk outlay, Air cooler will not leak, AIOs tend not to either but there is always that 1/1000 chance

Visible point of failure, big fan on a tower cooling not running is noticable, a failed water pump isnt

Fail safe, a failed tower cooler will still provide a large amount of passive cooling, a failed AIO will VERY quickly allow a CPU to overheat.

 

The only place AIOs belong are in small form factor builds where space is at a premium and passive airflow is minimal.

I don't see apple products as overpriced.

 

Maybe to clarify, the Hardware may be for some of you, but I think the hole Apple Product (experience) is not.

Gaming laptops.

I just don't get it, most that I have seen are super bulky, seem like a pain in the ass to carry and also they seem overpriced for the performance you get.

 

Also I like Blackberry phones. The PRIV looks appealing with that keyboard.

Unpopular Opinion : dont think of the US election as voting between trump and hillary, Think of it as a chose between :

Bombing the muslims (Hilary )Vs banning them (Trump). TBPH , i would rather get banned than bomed.  If i was living in america , at least i could move somewhere else like europe or canada. yes you will lose everything that you have worked for in america like your buisness and such , but i would rather lose that vs a arm and a limb.

One more thing that I can't stand is the internet slang. Words like rekt, "360 no scope", bae, lol, lmao,, "dank meme", etc. It's actually not only the words, it's like people forgot how to write a sentence. They honestly lower my IQ. :|

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

I like Windows 10's asthetics and design but at the same time hate it because it is so buggy (pc randomly freezes and locks up completely and requires a reboot) also, i like amd, they are a budget friendly alternative (but at the same time i also hate their coolers, the 290x is killing my ears because it has to stay above 50% fan speed while gaming....) I used to like razer headsets (i dont anymore because my blackshark headsets has failed twice in the same way within one year, both covered by warranty but i didnt replace the last one because i dont want another pos headset)
