Im single now. BF wanted nothing more than sex, i wanted nothing less than a serious relationship with equal respect from both of us. (He was beginning to get REALLY pushy with sex 2-3 weeks ago)

@Strando123 I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure you deserve better than someone who only wants you for your body. @WinNut I get the same. But being that I'm in a college town they are mostly smiles and not weird looks.

Does not having a second parenthesis around something bother anyone else as much as it does me? (Like if this statement was missing a second side)

Well, this might sound harsh, but basically you need to move on. If she's a lesbian you cant change that(don't try, it will just make matter worse for both of you). Can you guys be friends though? Ehh, it all depends, and this is where since I'm coming from an outside perspective I cant give you a definite answer. Since she say: "Its really obvious that you like me, and im not interested in you" maybe you acted flirty with her, I'm assuming you did, but when someone isn't interested it doesn't feel good to be flirted with(hopefully I worded that right). If you still want to be friends with her, it will be awkward for a while because of this recent stuff, but you can try to be friends if you really want to be just friends with her(and if she doesn't want to be friends then respect her decision and move on). Just don't be flirty with her, just be a friend. If she doesn't have many guy friends, then this is a good indication that she just doesn't like being around guys, which could be the case. Also are you sure she is a lesbian?

 

Anyway, sorry to hear your crush didn't want to be with you, I hope things work out, but keep your chin up and remain positive :) Feel free to ask more questions.

Definitely this. Having crushes on people who are lesbian/gay/straight when you are not is a tough one. I'd recommend maybe leaving it for a week or two to come to grips with it and then trying to start at the friendship again - going from 100% to 0% without breaking isn't too easy. Just know that yea, it's not changing and it's probably not just a phase. Talk to her and tell her that you want to be friends and it should all go to plan. As @Octavialicious said, make sure she doesn't pick up on your attraction to her.

As a straight guy who's asked out many girls that turned out to be gay, getting over them was easy cuz like there are millions of girls out there that aren't gay. I'd say it's much harder to become un-infatuated with someone who's straight :/
