The problem is the screw holes on the left and right interfere with placement of gddr6 there which your theory would still interfere. Dont see it on the leak either?

on the leaked image you can see 3 on top 3 on bottom, and from that perspective 2 on the right they have the screw terminal right in the middle of them

not sure if you saw but they promised on reddit to stop using blower cards, they seem to have sticked to it, hopefully on all cards.

Nice. Glad they did that. Now PLEASE don't screw up the open design somehow. Or the launch day drivers. Please please have a strong launch for a change.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

What's with the orange rectangle in the leaked picture. What are they trying to tell us, are we suppose to focus on that that single piece of screw or what.

if you pay close atention there are 3 open spaces there each marked by a few components making some sort of perimeter, that is the capacitors for the memory chips that are on the other side of the board, the retangle is there to shows us that this gpu uses gddr6

I should clarify that I'm not convinced the gddr6 layout will be on biggest navi but the leak picture clearly is, I just couldnt see the 2 spots because I was blind until I saw the light

How does that orange rectangle who knows what image app that person used, proved it's using GDDR6. The modules are on the other side of the PCB. I can say it's using some prototype GDDR7, and you'll believe in it?

well, one of those twitter leakers said the leak was of the navi 21, and redgamingtech said amd is using a 128MB cache on die to reduce the need for external fast memory, but still i am with you this is not the normal: these are the leaked specs, they match what we expected within reason its more like: these are the leaked specs, us: O.o

Then how can anyone go around and claim they're using GDDR6. It's better not to make any claims until it's proven, with picture of the actual ram modules are out.  Whoever leaked that image with the orange rectangle is wasting peoples time.

It's meant to show they arent using HBM but at this point who fucking knows what AMD is doing. Big Navi is the dark horse

there is only really 2 options gddr6 or gddr6X, with X being most likely exclusive to nvidia at least for a while, the likelihood of it being gddr6 is really high, and the difference isn't that high between them, gddr6 does 14-18gbps gddr6x does 19-21gbps

The picture shows nothing, except that's a engineering card and nothing else besides the label "Typical Samsung 16Gb".

AMD current RX cards are already using GDDR6.

I like the label.  "Typical Samsung 16Gb"

Makes it sound like this is a mule board design for testing various memory configs/vendors to decide who to go with for price/performance in the end, or to validate spec tolerances of for the purpose of driver tuning.

Why do they always have this opening on the side where the backplate is? Not only does it look dumb,it also looks like it's specifically designed to accumulate dust...

Can't be for "cooling" as there are obviously much better ways to do this.

They have an ad in Fortnite where you can view the entire 3D model of this card. That seems to be not the case this time...

What concerns me is the lack of video outputs

I already use 3x DP for monitors + HDMI for VR. This is just terrible, why not add extra outputs on top if you are not going to use the space here for cooling?

VirtualLink! So nvidia has given up on it, I don't recall seeing it on 30 series AIB cards, only now AMD decide to adopt it?

The card looks absolutely massive, even compared to this picture of the Sapphire Tri-X R9 290x (which I own).

sapphire-r9-290x-tri-x-profile.jpg.f0c497c2ca7fcaca02340579a1ac650c.jpg

That 290x clocks in at just over 12 inches, but this new one looks like it could be upwards of 14 if this picture isn't deceiving us. Either way I like the look of it. I'm hopeful to get another few years out of my 1080, but if I was in the market for a new GPU I'd definitely wait to see what AMD has to offer.
