Yes but at least we get paid for it. Google collects that stuff for free and we don't see a single cent.

I mean the cpu is massively higher in multithreaded performance than your 9700k so it should do alot better but if you are worried you can always get the r9 7950x which is a 16 core cpu and should be your best bet in terms of consumer cpus.

Brooksie359 got a reaction from Ottoman420 in Is there anything I need to know before getting a 4060?
There are obvious benefits to both but generally at the lower end nvidia offerings suck. On the high end the 4090 is objectively the best gpu on the market but I would have a hard time buying anything under a 4080 from nvidia. The 4070ti with 12gb is just a ticking time bomb for the card being outdated in a couple of years. Personally if I was going for more entry level prices I would go for last gen AMD as they are on crazy good discounts at this point and it's hard recommend Nvidia's offerings at that price point.

Cool and quiet are relative. Under 80 degrees Celsius under load is cool imo. As for quite you can easily adjust fan curve settings and the like to reduce noise.

Brooksie359 reacted to Alex Atkin UK in Does CPU effect FPS even if GPU is at 100%?
Its more than it might reduce stutters as the GPU might occasionally become CPU bound even if 99% of the time its maxed out.  Of course, depends on the game.

Brooksie359 reacted to dizmo in Why is 2160p 4K
There isn't a single part of the resolution that is 2000. If anything 2.5k would make sense, but it's people trying to use a naming system not meant for the resolution.
    It's because actual 4k is 4096 x 2160.

That's a garbage take. I have consistently seen games come out that had amazing graphics and run at high fps and I have seen games come out with horrible fps and the graphics still sucked. Also fidelity is already so go on alot of games that you would be better off having it be easier to run on a larger range of rigs.

Honestly what gets me everytime is psu power switch and ram being not fully seated. Still remember being confused for hours as ti why my pc wasn't starting. I was super tired at the time and had been up for a long time. I ended up giving up and went to bed. The next morning I felt so stupid when I realized that the psu switch wasn't flipped to on. Also have had an issue where ram wasn't full seated for a couple of builds but with modern motherboards I see ram light and I can quickly identify the issue.

I just play at high or very high instead of Ultra.    That being said, I do have a 7700x and an overclocked RTX 4080 so I am not too worried about low performance at the moment.

Honestly I think the acer laptop is probably the better buy based on reviews but the msi is also on sale. Still I think the included display for the acer is better vs the msi while the gpu for the msi is better than the acer so I guess it depends on what you value more.

Brooksie359 got a reaction from GoodBytes in Do i need DP cable or HDMI is ok
That's not how that works. First would be that freesync isn't always available over both connections and there have been many cases where the HDMI or displayport standards technically should support the refreshrate of the monitor but for some reason the monitor does not support it. I know that was the case with a couple of the monitors I have had in the past which was annoying and why I remembered it. That why I typically look at the specific monitor model to see what it supports.

Sadly this information doesnt have enough samples to have anything that people should even start looking into regarding longevity of a product. So all we can say  form this is "huh, neat". It is a bit interesting that EVGA's warranty took so much longer than most others, but that could be due to how far the card has to travel for repair/replace.

Though I am not surprised Gigabyte's service is shit, even in a small sample size.

From what I understand the performance difference is minimal until you run out of vram. You can easily fix this issue by lowering textures to try and limit vram usage so you don't run out of vram.

You have to keep in mind that old cpus and motherboards will increase in price later down the line simply because if you want that particular cpu there aren't alot of places to buy one. The i7 9700k isn't worth all that much at this point in reality.

As someone who has tried alot of office chairs imo Herman Miller is one of the best. I couldn't really find any that were better but I am sure if you looked long enough you might but honestly most of those are going to be expensive as well. Also I never said that this should be treated as an investment to make money. My point is that when you spend money on a chair it's not like you can't get a big chunk of that money back if you need to so it's something to keep in mind. Also I would argue that having an ergonomic high quality chair is going to be worth far more than that 900 dollars you are talking about in terms of health benefits. There are places where spend less makes sense but not in areas where it concerns your health.

Not sure what software you are talking about. I mean there are plenty of overclocking softwares for gpus the most prominent being MSI afterburner. As for cpu it's mostly a bios thing to overclock besides software like ryzen master.

DDR4 ram is super cheap atm so I would imagine between cheaper ram and motherboard you would be cheaper with the 5800x3d. Also keep in mind that 8 vs 6 cores is nice especially when you have background programs open when gaming. The only reason why I would potentially go for the r5 7600 is if I was planning on upgrading to another cpu on the same platform later down the line.

Also in the cases where the adapter melted it was due to them not plugging it in all of the way so it's not like it isn't avoidable.

Brooksie359 got a reaction from IkeaGnome in Dual 4090 build
You might want to look into another 4090 as I have heard that the one you are looking at has some reports of the pcb cracking due to being too heavy and gigabyte not honoring the warranty when that happens. Also you might want to get a liquid cooled 4090 to save some space. At least for the 4090 that would normally have its fans facing the other 4090 you could go for a liquid cooled option.

Employees have a right to have preferences just like employers. If you want to require to work in person then you can do so but just know that you are competing with companies that do allow remote work and people will often times choose to work for those companies instead. For me I don't see anything other than highly collaborative work being better in person than remote. Also I think most places do hybrid which is a good middle ground. I go into work once a week and I feel like that is probably a good middle ground so that people can see each other in person once in awhile but also not making me spend 1 hour each day commuting to work when I can just work from home.

If I were you I would look at third party reviews of 4090s as some places have done a 4090 round up of different models and compared them. On the air cooled side I do know the MSI Suprim is very good and can be had for a very reasonable price where I am at and is one of the few that generally doesn't have coil whine. I don't have personal experience with any of the other models but the asus TUF which has worked well as well. That being said third party reviews have alot more experience with the various models so they will have better input than I could give you. You could even look at to see if any of them do comparisons between different AIO 4090s.
