Not here to start a flamewar but who else feels the same way?

getrekt

Before I express my thoughts I request everyone to keep it civil down here!

OK here we go.....

LTT stop doing content that will appeal to 12 year olds!

I don't mean any offence to 12 year olds or LTT but the recent content has been a little (more like a lot) not so very helpful!

Examples -

128 gigs of ddr4... What!? You may give them a sponsor spot but a whole video!!!

32 gigs of ram in a Gigabyte brix.....seriously!!? That brix won't need even 24 (even 16 is more than enough!)

You may make one video about the crazy 18 core processors and include the server story in your office build log as a small section but a whole video series for that!?

I could keep on going but I don't wish to. Please let's have a civil discussion about this down below and trolls and haters please keep your thoughts to yourselfs.

If you wish to justify such content ideas then please do so with respect for each other.

The gsync vs vsync video was great BTW and such videos are welcome but please get rid of the ridiculous and impractical videos that won't help anyone.

I don't see how doing product showcases of what's possible with modern technology is so called "twelve year old content".

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

The impractical videos are great because they show why its impractical for the consumer that thinks that they can just throw more money at a system and it'll suddenly be future proof or practical in real world applications.

Well I don't really care for those, so I don't watch them.

Watch what you want, and I doubt he will stop making vids like that as he gets good $$ from those

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

"Like" comments to show your support of them or the idea they express.

Well you can have product showcase for the week in one video for things that no one will buy.

you're getting it wrong IMO.

while both the 128GB and 32GB are total overkill, they're none the less impressive, and show us what's waiting in the future.

--

and as a networking & server guy i REALLY like seeing every one of their servers "get born" in detail, see what they use, see how they use it, and how well it works.

as would for example someone who deals with MASSIVE zip archives, or something else ram hogging be interested in knowing even something as small as a brix can hold 32GB.

its not about what's displayed in the video, but about the tech behind it.

The 32GB Brix RAM isn't just applicable to a brix, but also laptops. I would definitely put 32GB of RAM in a laptop if it was my main machine.

Also, your username is rather opposite to your point.

How.... What? How do those videos appeal to 12 year olds in particular?

It's real simple, don't like those kind of videos? Don't watch them. They can't cater for everyone, people like the impractical videos.

So like i said, stop moaning, and don't watch them if you don't like them.

The impractical videos are great because they show why its impractical for the consumer that thinks that they can just throw more money at a system and it'll suddenly be future proof or practical in real world applications.

I get your point but a single video for the week with 3-4 of such products is good enough! Why give each of them a dedicated video!!

Because LMG is a business and businesses exist to make money... not sure why this is a big deal. You can just not watch them.

I watch them for the sake of watching them. I like Linus and Luke, and the rest of LMG and will pretty much watch whatever they upload on Vessel/YT.

I'm gonna ask the opposite, why should they limit themselves to consumer grade technology only?

If they want to do videos about a cool device or piece of tech that they think is interesting and fun, then that's more than enough justification.

They're not a group of knights that have vowed their lives to serve the consumers after all.

I'm telling the truth! I AM a 12 year old girl!

I don't get how these videos appeal to only 12-year-olds. I'm 22 and they interest me, because they show what can be done with technology these days. If he made videos that actually appealed to 12-year-olds they'd be red and black "gaming" builds with insane, overkill parts (all red and black, of course) and red LEDs everywhere, among other things. Not videos saying "Here's a thing, here's what you can do with it."

As others have said, if you don't like it, don't watch it.

Do you watch Techquickie? That's more mature.

As for LTT, does it matter whether it's consumer, prosumer or professional equipment?? As long as it's enjoyable and entertains than its a win win

He should keep as much useful and practical info in his videos but keep a key or something in the description for 12 year olds and people new to computers.

Just my thoughts.

I never really know how to address these kinds of posts. I see the demographics (no we are not more heavily skewed towards 12 year olds than we ever were) and I see the viewer growth..

Not everything we make can appeal to everyone, but the good news is we make videos EVERY SINGLE DAY compared to many other tech channels that post every other day or even as little as like once per week. So think of it this way: if 1/5 of our videos appeals to you, then we're producing as much relevant content for you personally as anyone else, and we're also appealing to others who have different tastes than you do.
