For me, I got my degree in Asian Studies; but computers have always been a hobby for me. I started college as a computer science major but then I found out how much math is involved...

I got a BA in law and I'm currently writting my master's thesis. In law, as well. 

 

No idea how that fits into the two categories given in the poll. 

Law is certainly not STEM, but it's also not included in the liberal arts program at most universities.

Both.  I got a Bachelors of Science (took all the calculus, physics, chem, IT etc) in History with a Minor in Systems Engineering.  I'm currently doing my Masters of Science in Information Technology

Where to begin

I started with Technical 2 year colleges, then moved from there to a 4 year, then finished with a masters.

 

Computer Support & Network Administration A.A.S

Computer Programming and application design A.A.S

E-Discovery & Computer Forensics  Bachelors.

Cyber Security Masters.

I completed a Degree in Automotive Design.

I kind of crashed and burned near the end of the course, realising that I wasn't as passionate about the course as when I started, as well as being an average-achiever compared to some of the very high skilled designers I was studying with. Being a relatively small industry, employment afterwards was highly competitive, and by that point my urge to get into the industry had dulled down.

 

5 years have gone by, I've been working a desk job back home. Despite having a life long passion for cars, I've realised now that my interests lay more in the hands on approach, and I'm applying for various apprenticeships such as classic car restoration and specialist garages.

 

Not everyone finds their passion straight away. But I hope you all do, eventually :)

B. Sc. and M. Sc. in "Business Information Technology" - basically a mixture of Information Technology mixed with Economics. Many people end up in IT- or Process Consulting, I'm a frontend or somewhat fullstack developer. (If you can call SQL, ABAP and Javascript the sad full stack :D )

BEng Electronic Engineering. Got bored by the end of that, didn't want to do a masters. That makes me the least qualified of my generation and younger in my family as most went to masters, my brother went all the way to PhD.

Working on master's degrees in math and computer science. I plan to go to a PhD in computer science, might want to do that for math as well but that's not the field I plan to work in.

I got an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Technology while getting my Paramedic License, if that counts. It was an AAS in Applied Science and was already a second career for me, or third if you count 4 years in the Military. I have periodically tried to get myself to continue on to get a Bachelors in something that pays better, but Paramedic School was so mentally draining that I haven't been able to do it. I'd still have to work near full time while going through school or take on more student debt, so that's the main thing holding me back. The first time around I crawled over the finish line so I'm trying to psych myself up to go through that again.

I like your angle but the truth is, I am way more passionate about the major that I switched to. I fell in love with the Japanese language and culture back in high school and kept a closeted dream from my parents about moving to Japan. I decided to choose computer science at first because my father is a computer programmer. He secretly wanted me to go into computer science so he could have someone to 'talk shop' with. I like the idea of that, and I really do enjoy computers and such, but it came down to my true passion which was for Asian Studies. 

 

I had taken some programming classes in high school and a couple in college, and it never really peaked my interest. I like the idea of it, but in practice it doesn't mesh with my personality. Ever switching from computer science to Asian Studies, I have loved every single moment of my college career and graduated summa cum lade just because the material (which is by far easier than computer science don't get me wrong) was so aligned with what I love that the work didn't even feel like work. Currently I am typing this while laying in my bed in Japan which is where I moved after I graduated to teach English. What I am doing right now is far more fulfilling to me than sitting down at a desk and problem solving via the coding language of my employer's choice.

 

Thanks for the comment about passion, I always encourage people to follow their passion even if the money is somewhere else. ;)
