EA gobbles up Mobile Shooter Industrial Toys, RIP them.

EA the company eating monstrosity it is has acquired another studio! The 14 man team called Industrial Toys, they're a mobile game studio which focuses on shooters for the mobile market. The deal has been closed today for a undisclosed fee. Industrial Toys started back in 2012 in California and it's co founder had a huge pedigree, Alex Seropian is the former CEO of Bungie Studios. 

 

EA said this to the press after the purchase

I'm just so confused why EA feel the need to buy all these studios then to just close them after a few years, after publicly EXECUTING Visceral I lost all faith in them, they ruined so much good shit then they had the fucking gall to piss all over C&C's grave with a shitty mobile game. Worst part is they still have FIFA and that'll keep them afloat no matter what backlash they recieve. As long as they have FUT, they can basically do whatever they want.

You know, I do get why people don't like EA. There are lots of reasons. However, I'll never understand why people have a problem with them buying up studios, yet they never place any of the blame on the studio owners themselves. As far as I can tell, none of the purchases were hostile takeovers.

 

Not only that, if you look at the lifespan of a lot of the studios, it's over 10 years. Sometimes studios just fail, whether they're under a large corporate umbrella or not. It's not as if putting out shitty titles and being independent saves them. A shitty title is a shitty title.

 

As far as I can tell, "DreamWorks Interactive/Danger Close/EA Los Angeles" still exists. It's just part of DICE.

So much this... It's been so long since a proper C&C, they could make bank on nostalgia alone. That fact that EA almost had a full C&C game done then axed it for no good reason is why I haven't bought an EA game in several years. Well that and *AHEM* lootboxes *AHEM* in EVERYthing. smh

That may be true, but my comment was directed at those who mainly play mobile games (and as such think this mobile C&C game is amazing) are usually well under 30. And if you are into your mid 30s, went HAM on the OG C&C games AND think this mobile game is a good homage to them, you are a cunt.

Yeah, missed that part. I don't play games on my phone. It's why I have a PC. And if I want to play games on the go, I have a laptop. Otherwise, it's not really that important to me.
