My opinions:

I only logged on to the original one time. I joined RS at the tail end of 2006 and stopped playing regularly sometime from 2011-2013 and I currently only log on maybe once every 1-3 months. I may continue playing the game some day, though I'm not a fan of subscription models. If I do get back into it it would probably be OSRS because I don't like the way they were taking things and it was a much simpler fighting mechanic and less botching of the quest lore. Personally I wish they'd make OSRS more of what it was like in 2009-2010 rather than 2007.

im okay with this. Classic was a buggy mess.  Oldschool runescape(2007 era) is its prime, so as long as they keep that going, i dont think anybody will be too upset

Wait, if they aren't touching it how are there more bugs? The game existing shouldn't create new game breaking bugs, either the bugs exist or don't, it shouldn't unravel over time...

My only real memory of Runescape Classic will be being semi-famous on it for a day or two.
In 2006 RSC was closed to all but players who had logged in within the last 6 months. - I was one of them apparently, I had only really finished the tutorial and killed some cows before logging off.  2 Years later I login, and a crowd at Lumbridge noticed me and claimed I was the very likely the lowest level player in the whole game.

I seem to remember people suggesting I do the "Imp Catcher" quest, which gives the 'Amulet of Accuracy' as a reward, which at the time was considered a discontinued item because there were no more new players to do the quest, and so the amulet was worth a fair bit of money.
Then in 2009 they temporarily reopened RSC and I wasn't special anymore...

EDIT: I just realized that event happened 10 years ago! Hard to believe its been that long.
